There are a number of benefits that favor synthetic oil and in some applications, some draw-backs. In applications where there are higher levels of temperature changes, higher RPMs, the need for better film consistency and/or the need to lower frictional wear due to lower quality parts, all which fit any motorcycle...and CFM applications, a quality synthetic oil can extend an engine's operational life span greatly. However, the use of some synthetics in some applications has some drawbacks. Some of those are in plated cylinders, friction devices such as wet clutches and in some types of gaskets and seals that were not designed for the use of an oil with the molecule type of synthetics. Fortunately CFMoto's engines can take synthetic oils and as long as it has the correct additives,(mostly JASO) can be used with wet clutches. I choose the oil I use based on test results and people's reviews. I can safely say I find it to be the best oil for a shared-sump, higher RPM small engine I have ever used. I wish I could use it in my Kawasaki but..with plated cylinders it burns synthetic oils so.. for me, it's worth the extra money to ensure all is getting the best protection I can give it. Besides....in the long run...oil is cheap, engines rebuilds.. aren't. And these have has enough rod bearing issues to make me..at least...want the best it can get there.
