What's the best filter I should get for mine.I have easy availability for a k and n oil filter .what should I go with

CFMoto, HiFlo, WPS Filters (Formerly Marshall Distributing). Ive used all three. Just what ever I grabbed off the shelf on the particular oil change. I refuse to use K&N, but thats already been explained in another post.

I have used the K&N spin-on filter on my Brute Force...along with several others..and it won't keep the oil from getting "color" as well as the stock Kawasaki filter. The best I found for it was the Puralitor PureOne. If they make one for this...or the Rotax 800, I would at least try it. Not a cheap filter...but neither is the OEM. Filters are not the place to save money anyway.

With regards to this idea, I went a head and ordered three things to test today. 1-a Rotax 800 oil filter to measure the depth and compare with -2- OEM CFM filters also ordered and 3- from ebay a rotax 800 filter aluminum cover to see of it would fit on the 800 CFMoto. If the filter depth is the same as the actual CFM filters I also ordered and the cover does fit - both o-ring and bolts, I will take the chance and buy this adaptor. Wish me luck :)

The oil filters came in today and did the comparison. The real issues at this moment are that the Cam Am filter's overall length is 1.7mm shorter then the CFM's and the rubber opening on the CA is .76mm larger. This might be corrected with switching rubbers but the length...well we will have to see how it sits on the covers when it gets here. But for now, anyone that says the Can Am Rotax 800 oil filter will work in the CFMoto 800 is incorrect. If nothing else it will fit the port loose enough to bypass and let junk back into the engine. Don't use the Can Am Filter.  Here's the numbers:

I think they might still work but here is a test. Take the o ring off the cover. Place the canam filter in there. If you have to give some push to get the filter cover home than the gasket is making contact and will seal fine. The ID may not be a big deal depending on how far the outer port is to the center. The OD is a close match so unless the port is less than 2mm from the oem filter gasket edge, should be a non issue. I  could be wrong but I think the port is close to the edge of the oil filter housing.

I'll check all that when the CA cover gets here. I don't think the cover actually pushes the filter against the far side..at least much as the pressure relieve is on the end and has to be exposed..and I think you are right on the port not being very long. As I remember the filter didn't slide onto it much before bottoming. out.
