Hey Guys,

So finally got the X400LE back from the dealers had the minor and the major issues done plus recall kits.

Shifter been adjusted as for the foot brake cable, result shifter smoother and hopefully won't be popping out of low gear any more?
Dealt with the coolant leak by switching out water pump seals?
Had Oil in the airbox rectified by the way of recall kit for that?
Got the starting problem fixed by way of new battery and starter solenoid exchange?
Got the front brake lines rerouted with the recall kit done as well.
Plus other factory faults that were minor and cosmetic.

Reason for the ? Marks as not yet put to the test until next week when I'll be heading off for the annual fallow rut trip down in the Snowy Mountains region.

Just wanted to share my experience with the dealers who are well known here (Sydney city motorcycles) and respectable I should say and also the experience with CFMOTO Aus (Mojo motorcycles) who are the major cf importers here in Aus.

It was a long process of 5 weeks with many back and forths between the 2 companies until got all the work approved to be done through warranty endless emails and calls with heaps of pass the bucks and pointing of fingers buy finally got it done Hopefully.

The impression you get from the dealers is CFMOTO (Mojo moyorcycles)  is hard and ridiculous to deal with and CFMOTO tells you the dealers just want to get rid of you go figure what sort of relationship this really is but in saying that you need both as CFMOTO will not hear you unless it's been through their official dealers anyways and then the games begin!

What I've found tell now,as I said haven't yet put the vehicle to the test but have started it transported back home and had it running to do a minor test that the basics looked good!

Had it running today just in idle and noticed the temperature didn't just get up but sky rocketed and the gauge was actually flashing on the dash also the EFI indicator would come on then off things I've never had before the work was done, not showing any weird behavior just all on the dash?

Checked the coolant and oil levels and were fine? Hoping that's its a glitch as was with a battery and solenoid for a while! Will soon find out and worst case will be going back once I get through next week.

For now  :-X

Your comments and advise are much appreciated guys.

Sorry bout the essay.

Tez.

If it were mine, I would not take it out with the temp gauge like that. It might be something small, but I would try to make sure the pump is working and they didn't leave a giant air bubble in my cooling system.

 Hey Guys,

So did my checks plenty of fluids, took the X400LE out was a good and successful trip down south plenty of deer meat in the freezer.

But still experienced overheating issues while in idle even being down south and in cooler conditions, was ok while riding as plenty of ventilation while on the move but when in idle different story, didn't really enjoy the machine as kept a close eye on it the whole trip still managed to put an additional 40kms on the original 140km before the trip.

Finally got it home bu really busy with work catching up so finally got around to starting the quad up after 3 weeks in the garage, thought I'd give it a run to mobilise the fluids in the engine and give the battery a crank and was horrified to see what happened!

In idle the temperature gauge topped out and started flashing HOT on the instrument panel and not just did the EFI light come up but started flashing and noticed the fan did not kick in!

Immediately shut the machine down and it was at boiling point and started pushing coolant out of the reserve bottle Unbeleivable!

Never had it ever done this before it was touched by the dealers even with the coolant leak, this is starting to become very worrying to say the least emailed CFMOTO Aus (Mojomotorcycles) waiting to see their response and looks like back to the dealership again now.

Get this they even told me at the dealership when picked up the X400LE that I was very lucky all the work had been approved under warranty as they are still having others knocked back for their work ???

I'll upload some pics and vids for y'all to see...

How do I check to see whether I have air in my system and maybe bleed the cooling system???

Manual is useless unfortunately to say the least.

Cheers Tez...

I don't understand two things. 1-Why hasn't.. anyone.. put a thermoswitch in that thing or at least a safety bypass and 2-why do you let it idle so long? Idling for long periods is not good for any engine and this overheating is going to kill yours.

Just remove the connector from the thermoswitch and put a jumper across the terminals on the harness side. The fan should run all the time with the key on. If that solves the overheating problem...just replace that switch. The dealer should have done this long ago. Now.. if the fan doesn't run, its a relay problem. Still an easy fix.

Disregard that last post just venting my frustration love my CFMOTO just makes me wonder the 6990 Aud that I sent on this brand-new machine and at 1 year old now since I purchased it facing all these issues, could have got a relatively good second hand branded machine with less probs!!!

Don't know I'm just jiber jabbing right now spook frustrating to say the least.

It's probably just a simple cheap switch that all CFM Dealers know are POS and should be replaced...and some just don't do it. Do the test...and if it is the switch, either do it yourself or tell your dealer to stop wanking with it and fix it.

Thanks mate,

Shall do, really appreciate your help and advise also have seen your vids on YouTube very informative definitely your on the ball with these CFMOTO machines.

Just quickly is the thermo switch the one mounted to the radiator at the bottom ? And does it matter with the negative-positve side when pumping the harness?

Cheers mate.

Also if it is the switch should it be replaced with an original CFMOTO part or is there a better brand that will fit that's gonna do a better job???

Cheers tez...
