Thanks mate,

Shall do, really appreciate your help and advise also have seen your vids on YouTube very informative definitely your on the ball with these CFMOTO machines.

Just quickly is the thermo switch the one mounted to the radiator at the bottom ? And does it matter with the negative-positve side when pumping the harness?

Cheers mate.
Yeah it the one on the radiator and all it does is make or break the connection between the two wires so no worries about how to jumper it, just jumper the two together.

Another thing why in the world would the EFI indicator come up and flash during a heat problem???

Learning as I go...

Thanks...

Also if it is the switch should it be replaced with an original CFMOTO part or is there a better brand that will fit that's gonna do a better job???

Cheers tez...
There is a lot of talk about that...and if we knew exactly what switch to use without changing the harness connector or knew the thread size & pitch...and one that had it's On and Off about the same, we would post a better one to go to. But for now I suggest just going with a new OE.

On several other manufacturers when the temperature exceeds a certain point, other input sensors start sending incorrect data to the ECU which triggers the EFI light to come on. I suspect that also happens with these as well.

Ok thanks for that Awesome input really appreciated I'm no mechanic nor making out I'm one to say the least but willing to have a go to truly understand my equipment!

So basically I'm jumping both wires on the positive end and grounding the negative to the frame? Turn key on and fan should go if the it is in fact the switch? If not check the relay? Still scratching my head though as the first time I experienced this problem the fan kicked in and down came the temperature and the EFI light goes off but this time Wow! Well you saw the pics and vids then...

Tez...

I'm suspecting all to do with the water pump swap out or work as I said previously never had a overheating problem before even with the coolant leak while in idle or riding in fact!

Will be definitely visiting the dealership again...

Cheers Tez.

All you are doing is making the connection between the two wires going to the switch..no grounding..it's just sending power to the relay..that all. The jumper is just a manual way to get power from one to the other.

The thing that worries me on the EFI light coming on it that by the time it's that hot...other things can (not always) happen...like oil break-down, cam lobe scaring, head gaskets loose their seal, rings loose their lube, valve seats burn and can crack. Heat is a killer.

Better check the fluid level in the radiator. If it's low enough to expose the thermoswitch, it won't close and the fan won't come on. Yes, this could be your only problem. Run it with the cap off and keep it to the bottom of the neck until it gets warm enough for the fan to come on. Then top it off and cap it up. Take for a test ride. :)

 :o  :o :o

Got word back from CFMOTO Aus  (mojomotorcycles) in regards to my issues with the machine, they sent or forwarded me an email they sent to the dealers informing them of my complaint and requested they book me in for an inspection and specially mentioned to check the thermostat and bleeding the cooling system for a air block.

Let's see what happens???

I will also mention the switch and the fan issues.

Might also jump ahead and get them to do the oils as per its first scheduled service (250km) early what do you think? Manual mentions engine oil change and diffs oil change within the first service.

Cheers Tez...

Well Guys another update, Spoke to the dealer and confirmed they had in fact been contacted by CF moto Aus
Explained further my ordeal "Did you notice it straight away after you picked up the quad" is the first thing they asked me???

Finally he had to consult with someone else at the dealership before giving me a booking date and time to assess the quad "no problem sir I will give you a call back with the details" that was last week!

I think thats enough time to wait for a call back they will hear from me Monday morning...
