During a ride today the eps went out, fortunately it was near the end of the day. My friends an I looked things over and did not see anything obvious with the wiring harness or steering gear. I was about to load it up when it began to work again. Apparently, one of my crew manipulated the wiring a little and I guess it was enough to re-establish a intermittent connection. I understand that questionable connections can be the source of this problem, but is there any particular ones I should look into first?

Check the EPS motor fuse holder..not the fuse itself. CFM has had a lot of issues with main fuse holders having bad internal connections that act the same as you describe. Otherwise the EPS controller can and will cut out when hot until it cools down.
