Buying used
« on: June 18, 2018, 02:08:36 PM »
Hi new to the forum.  I am looking at getting a used zforce 800 for my kids.  Are there any trouble spots I need to be weary of when I go to check it out? The unit looks like it has been well maintained from the pics and am hoping to go check it out this coming up weekend.

Welcome. Not too much more then any other used UTV. Check the a-arm bushings, wheel bearings, engine oil condition, general feel and sounds...but mostly..either check for yourself what air filter the owner has been running. If it's a stock factory filter and it's been in dusty conditions..walk away. If it's been a Unifilter sense new, probably pretty safe.

check that the 4wd engages and the diff lock engages. when you drive it you will notice it has a good whine to it seems to be normal. check low and high range. make sure the fan comes on by 4 bars on the temp gauge. if it doesn't it's an easy fix but he may have overheated it which isn't good for these engines.

Would this apply to a machine that only has 90 original miles? I am looking at a 2015 tomorrow with 90 miles on the clock, and the guy had it serviced every year

Every one in sales has told me this very thing - AIR filter, AIR filter AIR filter.  If you buy the machine, swap it out first thing and that will be the difference in lasting long, or a dusted motor.
