I have yet to change the oil on my Zforce 800 but from the stories im told it is less than ideal.  I ordered all the parts I think i will need to adapt this machine to a spin on oil filter design and have it in a more reasonable location.  I just wanted to get this thread in place so i can update it as I make progress.  Also while I'm here, how many people would be interested in something like this if I could make it available?  I know price is always in question because if its gonna be $500 then of course its not worth it.  I would say this would be in the $50-$75 dollar range if i was guessing though (with a new filter included).  Anyway, I will update this thread as i make progress on it but i dont see it being all that difficult.

We are all interested and I have been looking at these and trying to get them to make a slight change to work with the CFM engine. They are not interested so I have relaxed my efforts until I use up my stock of OE filters. I too have a thread on this subject and YES, and remote spin-on would be most welcomed!

These are for the Rotax 800 which is what the CFN was copied from. There are 2 slight changes but the cover and bolt pattern isn't one...I actually bought a Rotax cover and tried it..works perfect. We were looking at either the one with just the filter or just the ports for a lined remote as we already have oil cooler lines from the block.

Here a link to my thread and findings so far. Feel free to run with it. This is a much needed item for all of us.

There are advantages to using the std filter, you can check it for any metal bit's which may save you driving until the engine gives up altogether, Just my thoughts ;)

If my engine is going out then in reality im going to run it until it gives up the ghost.  Then i will completely rebuild it.  I wouldnt stop using an engine that needed rebuilt and not replace everything in it because then you are only asking for those same problems to return.

Personally, If I found metal on the filter in my opinion it's already too late.  I feel there would be a larger benefit to having a ...well.. actually.. a standard sized high quality automotive spin-on filter on a remote. That size would cause oil to flow slower through the media and do a better job of filtering.. possibly avoiding what caused a failure otherwise. And you could mount the remote anywhere..within reason that is.

I'm all about avoiding problems...lol
