Is it fake news or true
« on: April 28, 2019, 06:59:26 PM »
Hi All. I bought a 2019 Zforce 1000 and have read on a few forums that CFM rates the HP at the ground and not gross engine hp. Is this true. I hope so actually.

Smoke up your skirt  :) power is good nonetheless.

I plan to have one on the chassis dyno this week, I'm not expecting anything shattering :)
ZF 800 LX Trail, stock for now.......not for long.

I had planned aftwr break in to dyno as well. I pick mine up Wed. or Thursday. Will you post results of your dyno? Thanks for responses. Bob

Greetings Robert,
Your Z-Force 1000 is already over 100HP. Allow me to explain.
CF-Moto registers it's power and torque to the ground, Break Horse Power (BHP). The 1000 is 80 HP to the wheels, which if you mathematically calculate drive line loss, that puts the crank HP to about 106-108hp.

As a comparison, Polaris bolsters their HP number by using the crank HP rating, not the wheels, they rate the 1000XP at 110 HP but on a dyno they are registering 81-83hp to the wheels.
The Z-Force also produces more torque then a RZR 1000XP due to it's V-Twin design. The Z-Force can launch away from a Polaris off the line, hold ahead of it but the RZR will take the Z-Force in top speed due to much bigger clutching allowing it to pull past 70. You Z-Force 1000 will clear 70, but it's strong area is 0-60.

Two Brothers does make a nice exhaust that not only sounds wicked (being a V-Twin) does improve some power. There are some other areas that can improve power, (inside the engine). I do not know of anyone doing ECU tuning as of yet.

Hope this helps you out.

Thank you

J

i am going out on a limb and saying that 1000 engine does not make a 100 hp. I am curious about the validity of these sources who are stating the hp is rated at the wheels. Interested in being proven wrong.

I would totally agree with this statement.

Hello All, I just received an email back from CFMoto and the response said that the horsepower is measured at the crankshaft.
