Smoke after going fully underwater
« on: August 23, 2021, 12:08:27 PM »
Hi, let me start by saying what most of us already know, this ATV is a beast. Was crossing a river, which wasnt going to be that deep, but apparently on the way there was a new bottom. The ATV was fully submerged (obviously wasn't planned, and I was of course panicking), I just never stopped accelerating, and was just hoping for the best. To my surprise, the ATV was still fully running totally submerged for like 15 seconds. After we finally crossed, surprisingly the atv was still running but there was some smoke from the front. I can't remember the color, but I decided to just let it cool, and finish my trip on feet.

When I came back, I turned on the ATV, and everything seems to be running fine. My question is, is there something I should check or do after that huge mistake? Also, I randomly saw a thread linking a snorkel kit for cforce 600, should I get one as well?

P.S. CForce 850, but since it's the same as 800, posted here.

I appreciate any help
Thanks,
Best Regards

Obviously the basics- Change oil and filter a few times, inspect every inch of everything and dry...especially intake-related and belt-related. Dousing cold water on hot metal parts has it's consequences..hopefully only stick rings that can be un-stuck. But warped valve stems are a norm in these cases.. so be prepared. Yes..a full set of snorkels might not be a bad idea.
