My concerns  are top speed .reliability. and are they capable of doing 70mile plus on 40mph roads .sorry for essay

So let me get this straight, you want to know if a Chinese 550 can be run near it's maximum RPMs for 70+ miles without blowing up..is that it? As an off road vehicle they are reasonably reliable but used as a automobile ...what does your gut tell you?

This is such a bad idea that to have someone suggest this is OK is equivalent to telling you to break the law willingly. So let me be the first to say its a VERY bad idea, and you need to realize that a posted speed limit is there for a reason. Ohh, I know YOU can handle the ATV at that speed (  ) but you also cannot account for every other person on that road, including young drivers who may end up running into you just because they are inexperienced drivers. Do us a favor and stay alive please.

  What if he is trying to go 70 miles on a 40 MPH road. I believe you can ride 70 miles while maintaining a speed of 40 MPH. I've watched videos of guys doing it in Rural England. Your probably going to top out on speed around 55MPH on it any how. Depending on weight and attachments.

Why would it not go 70 miles at a constant 40 mph?
I have ridden 20+ miles on my cf500 at 50mph with no problems or straining to the engine/transmission.

Hi  sorry for confusion.  I read my post and it didn't make much sense.
What I was getting at was are the cf550 capable of maintaining 40mph for 70miles with rest breaks. That would be 35miles there and 35 miles back.  I'd lose my licence doing 70mph on a 40mph road. Only as my nearest dealer is 35miles away.

You won't be on the rev limiter the whole time. As you get going the CVT will get to high gear and the rpms will drop down. Not much for street legal around here so I don't know much about ATV's on the pavement. I do long runs down forest roads at 35-40 but they get rough and I can't keep that speed the whole way. If it's not going to see dirt, than the clutches might need some tweaking.

Well just to be safe I bought a cf 800

More power is always better if you have the cash to get it. The clutch cover looks different than the others I've seen. Did they change it?

I bought one month ago this model with EPS. Look nice and on the on tricky roadways successfully cope with. the single problem which I discovered until now and I think I'm not the only one, is that after 300 km in discovered oil in air filter box. I don't know if it's a general problem for all models but I don't think it is normal to happen this. On the other topic I read the same problem had it another user. For the moment I don't have a solution for this issue but I will discuss with the dealer.
