Ok guys I have a question?? So my z8 started leaking coolant out of the weep hole located right underneath the drain on the pump I think ?? ( Nmkawi please correct me if I'm wrong ) what's weird is that mine has this hole and some models don't? Now it was leaking pretty good not enough to over heat or anything like that but still concerning I cleaned it up after our ride on Saturday let it sit and this morning I could see there was coolant. Now is this a seal fail? I did take it to the dealer this morning it's under warranty still and they took a quick look and said it looked normal?? But I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to leak right? I left it there and they were going to check it out closer. What do you guys think could be happening just in case my dealer comes up with some bullshit excuse I'm prepared...thanks for your input.

Well #1, it should not leak until it warn out and that should take thousands of miles. 2. Those F'ers better put a new seal set in!  . What is odd is we both have the same machine..same year and yours has a nipple on the weep and a line that runs...somewhere? And mine has no nipple on it and when it leaked...and it did when new, it just drips down onto the frame. IT SOULD NOT have this line going up as it will hold coolant in and could get into the engine by passing through the oil seal on the other side. We preach about this about Kawasakis on their forums all the time. So I say take that line off that port. If it needs to weep, let it out.

Does anyone else with a 2015 800 have this nipple and line on yours?

I might also add that people have reported this problem and had it stop when changing coolant. Yet another good reason to get that factory coolant out of there. Think I'll put that on my list of things to do..soon.  Come to think of it...mine quit leaking soon after I started topping the radiator off with Prestone....Hmm

And just general information:

I had this exact same issue on my machine.  It dripped on and off for about 2 months.  Maybe about 150 miles.  It dripped while riding and there would be a spot on the garage floor the next day.  I did have a hose on mine which I removed.  I believe that the reason for the hose was to keep dirt out of the nipple.  It's easier to clean the hose that the nipple.  The dealer said it was normal and would wear in.  I called bullshit on that.  Sure enough it slowly stopped leaking.  Hasn't leaked since.  Go figure.  I did change the coolant in my machine over the summer.

Yeah Jogon30's was leaking then stopped..and now it's back to leaking again...and he's over 500 miles now like me. Mine leaked..well dropped.. up to about 300 miles then quit. So far it's still dry. I think the fact that his had re-started says there's a problem.

Good to know there are others out there with the tubes. His goes up..somewhere and that's not good. If it just goes down so it will drain...well that's OK.

I will let you guys know what happens I should know hopefully by tomorrow.

Tell them it's been leaking for over 500 miles and if it were going to quit..it would have by now.

I just had a service done and now the leak is back.  I have just under 1000 miles and the leak is just a few drops.  They did say that they topped off the coolant during the service.  It wasnt low before the service, makes me wonder?  Another problem after the service was the speedometer stopped working.  Talked to the dealer and they will warranty the speed sensor.  I was wondering is the speed sensor something that just goes out?

Some of them have..yes.

Mine leaked from new, (I also have a 2015 ex with that tube)now has over 600 miles on it.
I replaced the coolent with better stuff at 50/50 and no change.
Just did the seals and bearing while I was in there the other day and good to go now.
The spring seal on  mine had wear.


I'm being told there leaking where the spring seal seats, steel to aluminum. The recommendation is to use blue loctite there. Though I would imagine good high temp gasket maker would work also.
There is also a service bulletin that's out on them for proper shimming for spring pressure. Kinda hush hush.

And the most common problem they have had with Cfmoto was that overheating issue due to a failed sensor he had a hand full of them sensors on his desk! Something to keep a eye out for.

Had mine out yesterday riding at tallpines after I replaced my seals and bearings.
I was leary about the advice to put blue loctite on the spring seal rather then a gasket maker, but rode all day yesterday, so far no leaking.
I also beleave that they should not be leaking until they "break in". The seal should hold from the start as my new one has.

Wells guys finally got my moto back today I guess some of the parts were on back order almost took a month in the shop they replaced  the water seal,impeller,water pump seal and crankcase cover stator all for a little leak? Well it seems fine for now and I got a sweet deal on there extended warranty due that it took so long ! But I'm ready to test it out!!
