Can anyone share info on the pros and cons of having a full skid plate on the Z800 trail and sources to buy one? Thanks

The belly of these take a good beating if you ride in a rocky area. The "baskets" under there seem to hit everything. Iron Baltic or the SPOP that is a sponsor here has nice sets.

I built my own skid plate and A arm guards.  The reason you need them was stated above.  Also I like to let my machine ride as low as possible to keep my center of gravity lower and help with cornering.  When you let it ride low then you are going to bounce the belly off of things (ruts, rocks, trees and so on).  I have heard people CLAIM that plastic is great but I have personally seen sticks and rocks go through HDPE and I DO NOT trust it as protection.  I did 1/8" aluminum and I can jack the whole buggy up on it and it wont dent or bend.  Plus its only like 12 lbs total. If your just kicking around the yard then no need for underbelly protection.  If you are SERIOUSLY running off road then you need it.  Also it protects my axles from sticks and rocks also and the way I made the A arm guards it adds strength to them as well.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

Thanks. I definitely need one. I have looked for one from the vendors on here and on a google search with no luck.

Anyone know where I can buy a full skid plate for my new Z-Force 800 Trail (not the 800EX)? Thanks

The trail and the EX should take the same skids.

A Arms are different I thought, but a part number search should settle that question.

I just bought the Rival skid plate on ebay for $535.14 including $60 for shipping. The plate for the body fit good. Nice full coverage. I broke the first bolt I tightened. I didn't think I was putting that much force on it but I did ease up on the rest and they all went in good.

The front pate doesn't seem like a very sturdy mount. I think if I hit something hard with it it will bend or maybe even brake the wimpy mount adapter bracket or the stock plastic under there.

The front and rear arm plates are sized for the EX. I figured they would be even though on the web page it said it was compatable with my Z800 Trail. I think I can cut them down and make them work.

Here's a link to a short GIF I made of me in the Z on a muddy climb. https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/iVVBJTo3vd06GUZQ1k6VoVhX82L6b9CcAdFIihDIr1g

Most of the stuff I hit is right at the "baskets". The skid looks pretty good there. I think this will work out just fine. Now on to fitting the A arm ones.
