I love having nurf bars to protect the lower side plastic and make it easier to slide over and around rocks and logs or anything else that might otherwise cause me to hang up and high center. They also make A great place to jack from with a high lift jack. Often times when stuck I can quickly jack up one side and throw some rocks and logs or whatever under the tires and drive right out.

The question is this: if I install super ATV's Nerf bars on my Z800 trail will it make it too wide to fit over a 50" bridge? For that matter how is it that CF Moto can classify it as a 50 inch trail UTV when it measures 52 inches from the factory?

Yes it does and also in the brochure under dimensions it reads L x W x H: 113 x 52 (50 Trail) x 70 in. If anyone knows why please share.

They offer them in 52" and 50". Some states have a 50" max for trails or other regs on where and who can drive something over 50" wide.

Just something to check, in 2015 outside the States mine was called the "53" because it was 53 inches at its widest point and as I remember, that was the outside edges of the shoulder bars while the front wheels were 51.5". So check it the shoulder bars.

Outside of rim to outside of rim is how MN checks how wide you are. Mine said 53" and measured out to 51.5 also in the rear.

Update...

The Nerf Bars from Super ATV look nice and tough. For the trail model they just stick out way too far. I figured it would add about 9" to 10" to the width. I measured by putting a straight edge on the out side of the front and rear tires and measuring from there to the outside of the nerf bars. Not a true way to measure as the front measures 50 1/2" and the rear measures 51 1/2" outside of the tires but it's close. It is easy to see how they would be too wide now but when I ordered them I hade "excited to get nerf bars" brain.

Iv'e only found 1 other nerf bar set and they look like they would work but they're a bit pricey. Has anyone hit that side plastic hard and broke it or survived it?

I have not but been close a few times. My problem was more ripping the hell out of everything on the bottom especially the "baskets". This is why I built my own out of steel. Where I ride sometimes would tear off bars. I have a write up in the How Tos on what I did.

My iron Baltic skids wrap up the side to cover the plastic. Maybe it might be worth it to cut them down and reweld them. I haven't priced any of this out, so no idea if it would be worth it.
