Wheels, can you define " much cheaper
Than that" on the ohlin shocks? I have been less than thrilled with the replacement shocks I was sent. Im ready for something aftermarket.

I'm surprised to hear that. Mine are doing very well, and seemed like they got a lil better after a couple rides. Haven't did any adjusting yet but may soften them just a lil.

Cfmoto,
I do like the way they ride. But after having one fail in the first 10 miles on the machine, and now at 40 miles both have rubbed the paint off the springs on the smaller spring. I have considered just taking the smaller one off and running single springs. Not to mention the clanking noise the springs make when they hit the shock tube

That's about all they did. If you were to do that, I might buy the two small rear springs and the plastic transitioners from you. I have room on my rear shocks for the second spring and the 53s don't have the reservoirs on the back to deal with.

I'll let you know when I get the small springs off. Probably will be a couple of weeks with the crazy schedule I have now through mid August.

IMO the stock shocks dont ride all that great.  Im also coming off of stage 3 Elka's and those were like riding on clouds.  I dont think im going to change them out quite yet but I have already started with the adjusting to try to tune them to my style of riding.  Does anyone know what size shock spring wrench these take or have a link to one?  I dont have the right size currently.

Not seeing an angle change on the canister like stated.  It truly just looks like the original shock with a different main spring.  I did a 60 mile ride on 7-2-16 and I did notice a difference in the ride.  The shocks felt pretty nice,  I did not baby them by no means.   Here are some pics from the install.

Does look like they put a longer spring on the new ones so just taking the short one off won't work....maybe..:)

I can confirm that is in fact a longer spring because i had to replace 1 shock in my rebuild of my machine and i have both springs off side by side and they are COMPLETELY different.  As far as if the shocks are different i dont know.  But the springs for sure are different.
