Last couple of times out after running the trails a while and getting it good and hot I start to smell gas fumes in the cab. Not heavy but there never the less. I figure it has to be a vent or the ring on the tank so I pull the seat and check for any evidence and didn't find any. The ring is also tight but I gave it a couple extra bumps just for good measure. I also checked the rest of the fuel system and saw nothing. I think I read someone else having this issue. Any info or places to look would be helpful. I just don't need a fire out there...lol

LOl..no Polaris accessories or parts. I pulled over once and checked the gas cap, the tank had some pressure so I assume the cap was OK. I did notice the lines on top can slide back and forth on the connector..maybe with some tank pressure the return line can ..."pass-gas".. :)

Maybe. I do tend to fill it into the neck. Where is the evap can at?

1-20 in the manual. You may not have one. I think my z6 has one. Follow the tank vent. If it goes to a box other than the air box, that's it. You can wait it out. It will clear it's self out if that's it.

My girlfriend and I were riding one day and the smell of gas in the cab was overwhelming the both of us. Come to find out the ring on top of the tank had come loose. It was an easy fix, but real freaking handy, CFMoto........real handy.

Take the fuel pump out and clean real good and reinstall. Mine did same thing. Did not look like it was leaking, but I took it out and cleaned everything very well and reinstalled. The smell went away and I haven't had any more issues.

I had the same problem twice now. I tightened the ring under the passenger seat first time and the leak stopped, but not today. After I burned down the fuel it got better but the ring still looks to be leaking. I'm thinking I need to stop filling to the brim, what do you think, does it matter?

I'm told if overfilled some raw fuel can get into the evap can... where ever that is... and as that gas evaporates, gas fumes can get into the cab. My ring wasn't that loose and I didn't see any signs of leakage around it but I tightened it some more anyway. Like you I full mine to the top of the neck... so..maybe I'll not do that and see what happens.

1-20 makes reference to the evap system, but says not every market has it. Looks like there is a second hose from the canister to the TB. If no evap, what about the tank vent?
