So I finally got the 800 Trail and went out for a 27 mile ride.  Now it's pretty dusty.  Any tips on washing it?  Is there anything that should NOT get wet? Any thing that should not be sprayed?  What about the seats?

I usually use my 3100 psi pressure washer but DO be a little careful of all the graphics and the little reflector tape. Also watch it on the dash- the switched aren't water proof and water can get down into the ignition switch if not capped. Seats..well, they can get water logged and take a long time to dry out so go quickly over them. Other then those things remember the body is jusst plastic and paint so the less you rub on it with grit on it..the better...same for the windshields although I see you have the SATV shield..very tough..I haven't scratched mine yet

I am not very anal about cleaning my machine, it's a trail machine so it has scratches and such. I wash with a hose, where there is mud I just wipe it with my hand and rinse again and it gets pretty clean that way. I don't spray water on my interior switches I'll just wipe the dash down with a damp cloth if its that dirty, something just feels wrong about watering my electric switches. seats I rinse quick and wipe.

I've a low pressure hi volume washer & foaming guns. You want to be careful with the electrical connectors &  hi pressure. One of the jets for the wand is quite large & it works very well doing the interior & rear box when you don't spray everywhere.

Not really found a soap that works well with the undercarriage.......mud & crap.

Friend of mine, very large farmer says Dawn works best on his equipment....going to try that next.

I usually take the machine to the local self car wash bay on the way home from a ride. The trailer is in the bay and the tow vehicle is sticking out of the bay. I wet the machine down to get all the dirt loose,  then soap it all up, let it sit for a minute or two, then rinse it off.

I spray everything down, but I don't let high pressure hit the dash bits or the seats. You have to use your best judgement on what can be sprayed with pressure and what can't.

Takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how dirty the machine is, and it air dries on the way home :-)

Costs about $10 but the convenience and time savings is well worth it.

A side benefit is the trailer gets cleaned in the process.
