Dynojet question
« on: November 14, 2015, 07:41:48 AM »
Hey guys, got a question about my dynojet, first the programming instructions are a little vague, I downloaded the software v1.0.6.4, then downloaded firmware v1.13.1 . Downloaded map.
Then opened up the program, found map and fumbled around till I ran it. My question is what is the firmware v1.13.1 for and how do I use it, and what is the update firmware for when I open the button power commander tools for, and do I need to update it ?
Also what is the status light for on the unit for, I've not seen it come on yet, just the power light.. Sorry for probley some dumb questions... Thanks.

The updated firmware allows you to use any updated fuel maps publish by DynoJet or users. It also allows you to use the add-ons like the AutoTune (which I highly recommend) and the really cool POD-300 which I was able to demo at the AIM show back in October.

The status light will only come on if there is a fault. If you dont see it on, thats good. There are times it may flash a few times and then stop. Thats ok too.

It takes a second to figure out, but in the end, the PCV lets you take a LOT more control over your fuel map, is highly customizable, and can be programmed via a laptop, so you can see exactly whats going on. You can have your laptop plugged in while its running and see in real time your throttle position, AFR, and actual RPMS (AutoTune kit required for AFR).

Thanks for replying Emerson, I was hoping you would see this. How do I actually update the firmware and will it disturb any map I have in it ? Again I think I'm gettin dumber at this..
Oh I used the two brothers map, but I've gotten the twinair filter in it, do you think it will make any difference ?

It may, but since you have a downloaded map, you can just reload that map into it.

I had the same map in mine, and even at 13.3 AFR which is what that map is set at, it was too lean for my liking. The unit's plugs were still pretty white. I dropped mine down to 12.7 and it runs (and smells) much better. In order to drop it down to 12.7 across the board, you would HAVE to have the autotune installed.

I am going to download my map and upload it onto here in a few days to share to everyone.

What I'm going to try to do is download mine (which has the autotune, and allows me to adjust the entire map) and then also create a map with the values from mine and copy it into the sections that can only be changed with the PCV w/o the autotune.

I've been running my unit with the autotune active for about 600 miles now, so i think i should have a well adjusted map set up.

Man !!! That sound great. I finally got it
Sorted out, and updated the pcv and loaded the map, then test rode it, but honestly I couldn't tell much of a difference. But hey it runs good anyway, just didn't want it to run lean with the changes I made..

with that map you really wont. The ZForce runs a closed loop system which blocks out 0-20% throttle which is where you would see big low end gain. In order to by-pass that, you need the autotune.

These machines run lean anyway, what the map you uploaded does it help offset the leaner condition the exhaust and air filter would cause.

Hey Emerson, we're you able to post your map yet?

I'm waiting to get my unit back from STM. They are doing clutch work to it and they said they would dyno the unit and make changes if necessary. Once its back I'll post the map.
