Aftermarket Wheels
« on: September 24, 2015, 09:46:44 AM »
In the market for some after market wheels, and am curious what people have used.

I know the bolt patter is 4/110.

I have not found rear wheels that match the stock size though. The rears seem to be 14x9. The fronts appear to be 14x8 which I have been able to find.

Would love to hear what size, including offset, and what tires everyone is using.

I tried my Brute's wheels and tires on mine and were great. They are all 14x8 SS112s. The rear tires are 26x11s and the fronts are 26x9s on the same wheels but the front wheels should be 6" wide for the 9s. The offsets are 5+3 but any offset that has the first number equal to or higher then the second will work.

So will the stock tires work on the 14x8s or do I need to go narrower for the rear? Front? Do 14x8s all the way around or get narrower for the front?

Get 14x8s for the rear and 14x6's for the front. I also suggest dumping the stock tires for something better.

I trail ride and went up to 27s. I love GBC tires and any radial on any machine so I wend with my beloved Grim Reapers in the 27'. The Dirt Commanders are a great tire too.

When I have time, I'm going to try the wheels and tires from my Grizzly 660. I have 14x7 STI HD2s, with 30" Monster Mayhems on them. I think they are 4+3 but not sure. I will probably run them until I can afford to get more tires for my Z. When I get more tires, I'll probably keep the stock wheels, because they are as nice as any aftermarket wheels.

Just picked me up some new tires
28x9,11-14 of Wild Thangs.
Haven't had a chance to ride yet. There only 1 1/2 to 2 lbs heavier than Zillas. They fit nicely, I'll update on ride.

Has anyone had to put spacers on it? Or can recommend a get a set? I'm looking to put super atv's 2 inch lift and go up to 30's (Mudder inlaws 30x10-14) just worried the front tire will end up rubbing on something.

I just put a set of these on my 53-not because of any rubbing issue but because I was looking for a little more stability. They work well.

Welcome. I am not sure if you will even need them though. You might be fine. If it were me, I might wait and try the tires & wheels with the lift first.

Update on the Wild Thangs.
Obviously a little bumpy 5mph or below on hard surface after that they are pretty smooth. Great traction in snow and mud, and actually harder surfaces also very stable and good control. Due to the size i lost a little on short bursts but hardly noticable, lost around 3mph on top end but with all the traction and control gains it was well worth it. So far I love them. And they have a great MEAN look!
