Hey all,

I  have a 2020 Z-force 800 EX, changed the front rear differential fluid over the weekend. It is a pretty simple job but I had a question on the amount of rear diff fluid.  The rear diff calls for 13.5 oz or 400 ml of fluid as per the manual.

When filling up the rear diff it took over 21 ounces and still was not at the top or draining out. Also, before anyone asks, I did have the rear bottom drain plug back in before doing it.  :-)

Thoughts on just filling it up until it gets to the bottom on the treads or follow the manual and put 13.5 oz. in?

Although filling to the bottom of the fill port has been the way its always been in this...and most countries, this not true for CFMotos. Doing so overfills it and causes so much extra sling and cavitation it actually makes more heat. All this also causes the lube to be pushed out the vent tubes under certian conditions such as prolonged higher speed road travel for one. So, we have learned the hard way...including me..that on these, only put in what it calls for. Maybe 1/2 an OZ more but not to the bottom of the fill port.
