Hi, I simply wanted to ask if anyone could possibly recommend me trying a few things to clear a Red trouble light that recently came on my dash? It's located on the left top side of the instrument panel right the fuel reading. And to the right of a white indicator that kind of resembles two tires and a rear end?? Anyway, I'm an old timer and really don't use this 600 except to get me around when I go hunting once a year. My question is, is there anything I can check or do to fix this problem. Also, is there a way to reset it? Thanks for any help you guys can share, I would really appreciate it!  - Regards Bob in Spring, Texas        PS - quickly found a picture of what my dash looks like off the internet, it's not my actual dash.

Checking the Owner's Manual, that would be the "MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP".

Is it blinking? Or just on solid?

Is the machine otherwise running OK?

The ECU would blink a code if it could determine an operational failure. I don't know if a code reader would find any codes if the light isn't also flashing.

This implies an electrical anomaly of some sort which would require some hunting around to find. Things like low voltage, bad grounds,  marginal or high resistance contacts, etc.

This machine has a Bosch ECU that implements a very simple fuel injection and ignition  control system. The dealer should have the devices that communicate with the ECU and can display all the input values to the ECU, and help determine what the ECU is complaining about.

[/OK Thanks so much for your Help! The machine is actually running Great! Unfortunately due to my work schedule I won't be able to follow with it until Monday. Anyway, Monday I plan to check everything I possibly can ie; Anti-freeze level, brake fluid, etc, etc. Once I do that perhaps it may clear up, I'm just wondering if I would need to do something to clear the Trouble light? Thanks Again!

If you correct the issue, the light will go out immediately.

It's not like a modern car where the light stays on until the next time the ECU runs and passes the internal tests.

Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know that I first checked the oil level, it was Ok, I then checked the coolant level, it was OK. I then checked and removed the first pre-filter and that cleared the blinking RED light on my dash. Since after inspection both spongy pre-filters were still in good shape, so I went to the local ATV shop and purchased a large spray bottle of filter cleaner. Kind of like that stuff they sell for K&N filters for cars. Anyway, I sprayed both filters really good and let them sit for about 20 minutes. I then rinsed them both off, the water was a milky white color as I was rinsing them. They are still drying today. But I want to THANK everyone for the great Comments / Support!  You guys are the best!!!!
