No idling for more then 15-20 seconds for the first couple of hours. Keep it under 1/2 throttle with short cool-down periods also for the first couple of hours then start stretching it higher monumentally with cool-down breaks along with heating events such as up-hill power-on at lower RPMs then cool-downs between. The key to good running is to not overheat and over-expand things but mostly to use the cylinder's hash marks to break-in the rings but also wear where needed, the piston skirts before those no longer offer the effect they do when new. You have heard of engines that were broke-in very easy not preforming well or coming apart when pushed. That's because the pistons are expanded and starting a partial seizure against the cylinders..because they don't have the clearance for that expansion because how they were broke in. So push it a little at forst then let the expansion recede with a cool-down period...and that's only 10-15 seconds..then again but always momentary because you don't want the damage from the lack of oil or excessive heat from that controlled siezure. The rest, the valve train, gears and what-not will break in no matter how you control the throttle. 97% of the break-in will be done within the first hour. After that the hash marks will be too smooth to wear the skirts so get then adjusted. Then change the oil and filter regardless of what the manual says. Get that first batch of break-in trash out of it.

Just my opinion. Others may have a different view. :)

Could be many things but..rattling heat shield tin is common as well as some noise from the primary as the flyweights start snugging-up to the cam plate.
