So every time I cross a creek or splash through a large amount of water my 950 starts running poorly and starts to miss.  I’m not sure what’s getting wet.  They only thing I can think of is start using dielectric grease on the connectors. 

Anyone else having this problem?  Hoping someone has found the issue.

If it comes on that fast check the plug boots...and put a little dielectric grease just inside the rubber. Check the coils connections too.

That’s the first thing I thought of as well.  Did it before the last trip but to no avail.  I have the back tore off now fixing an exhaust vibration.  I’ll take a look around.

Any update on this?  Just curious, mine isn't nearly as bad as what you have described as yours being, however I have noticed that it does seem to be susceptible to water more than what it should. I've watched YT videos showing the Z950 in water/mud coming in the floor boards and just keep running like nothing happened, mine if I get in water that deep it will start running crappy.

Well, to be honest idk.  I had the back plastic off last weekend and went through all the connectors adding dieleltric grease.  We are supposed to get a lot of rain these next couple days so I’m hoping to drive it through the the creek close to my house.  If I get the chance I’ll update you.

So no it did not fix my issues.  But I did notice that when I was driving though small puddles it was fine.  However, when I drove into deeper water like forging a creek where water would come into the front it would start acting up. Then I got to thinking about the pedal and the drive by wire…. Idk but it’s with a look.

Thanks for posting this.  I have not received this notice yet, but after seeing this, I called my dealer today and he looked up my VIN and said that mine is included in this warranty bulletin so I have it scheduled next week to get this done.  The one question I got that I will ask when I drop it off is if enough water got in the hose to get all the way in the EVAP canister.  Does the canister need to be cleaned out or dried out or replaced, or anything?  Just curious if all they are going to do is add the new vapor hose or if they do anything else to the canister?

On the last page of the bulletin it says if the canister is heavy or if water comes out then it needs replaced.  I haven’t checked mine but I just did two rides that had multiple large water crossings.  Guessing it’s probably wet.

So just for curiosity I called my dealer.  They said they contacted cf moto who said they would not cover it cause my warranty was up last month.  I’m not really upset cause this is an easy fix, but I really don’t think that’s good customer relations.  I could understand if it was a broken part but this is obviously a design flaw.

That runs contrary to lots of other stories where warranties were honored long after the warranty expired.

I’m going to tear this down tomorrow to see what can be done.  Does anyone know if removing the evap will set a check engine light, like a car? 

I also sent cf moto a message on their website so we’ll see what they say.
