Belt direction
« on: March 28, 2024, 06:01:27 PM »
I replaced the clutch in my unit about 100 hours ago and I am not happy with it. I bought another clutch from a different vendor when I disassemble the clutch I noticed the belt was in backwards. do I reinstall it backwards or do I turn it around? 22, 950 sport HO

I have been told many different things about belts but the one thing that keeps coming back is that the belts have corded like older bias and radial tires that set going in one direction and changing that direction shifts then causing issues so the arrows and lettering on a belt is so that you install it in one direction and re-install it in the same direction. With that though you have already broke the belt in going one direction and changing it could result in belt failure...could..not a certainty. My gut says if it was fine the way it was..put it back in the same way.
