Have a 2021 Zforce 950 sport. Was out riding one day and it just died and hasnt really ran since. Checked for spark at first and it didnt have any. Tested the stator and it failed. Replaced the stator and got spark back. It would run for about 5 seconds and then die and then wouldnt start again. Let it sit a day and it would do the same thing. Fuel pump used to prime itself and now it doesnt. Ignition sparks one time on both coils and thats it, doesnt start at all now. Checked ECM wires and all clean. Kill switch seems to be working like it should as well but havent tried by passing it. Also replaced the injectors because it was acting like a fuel issue when it did run a few seconds. Im at a loss

Normally as it seems to effect both fuel delivery and partly ignition, the pointer would be to first the kill or stop switch or a vehicle-down sensor. As I do not see a vehicle down sensor in the wiring diagram I would be first looking at the kill switch..which isn't water proof at all and does suffer contact corrosion on a regular bases. If it tests-out OK then work back to the AUX relay(s). I might also be tempted to test the key switch as well as they also are prone to failure.

how do you bypass the kill switch? If i turn the kill of it wont turn over. if i turn it on it does. assuming it is functioning correctly given that. As for the key switch, if it turns on and off id assume its somewhat functional as well. How do you go about testing either one of them if they look as if they work. dont see any corrosion on either of them either.

Corroded contacts are on the inside..not the outside. Just use an ohm meter to test. Try working the kill switch on and off about 10 times, then leave it on and try it first.
Below is the kill switch diagram showing connections when normally on. You can jumper the correct ones..IF NEEDED..with it.

If I can turn the switch on and the engine cranks and I turn it off and it doesn’t, doesn’t that mean it is theoretically working? I have tried turning it on and off a dozen times with no success. If it’s not the kill switch what else would cause this? Would a bad ecm do this and if the ecm was bad would it still work with a scanner?

Might need to take it in. The process of diagnoses requires a detailed understanding of what it does.. and doesn't do under certain acts and conditions, then testing down the path it takes you. It's likely something simple but to look in the right direction takes some focus.

To high and inconsistent to be a rod..unless it's a spun bearing about to come apart. More like valve train problem...like a tensioner or jumped chain to me. Take a longer one with different RPM ranges. Be easy on it as it sounds like things are already critical.

pulled off the valve covers and all the rockers look and feel ok. valves are all in speck as well. timing chains dont feel loose either. its a very distinct sound and seems to get louder as the motor revs up but goes away sometimes.

Why is that heat shield moving so much? Well, something is very wrong. How's the oil pressure?

Its just loose, doesnt seem to be the issue. no oil light on dash. Would assume oil pressure is fine. Have a lot of things but not an oil pressure gauge unfortunately

Make sure no sound is coming from anything loose. I recall mine had a heat shield over the front pipe going to the back that was touching. I swear it sounded like it has a rod knock...and I know what that sounds like. A little ball-peen adjustment was all it needed. Yours sounds different but with loose things...never hurts to check.

Yea its not a heat shield as far as i can tell. Whatever it is its making it have no power either. It hardly wants to move in gear and sounds really bad too.. kind of at a loss at this point. time time for a new one haha

Might be time for a new one...if it's internal, there is a real problem.
