New motor
« on: December 11, 2016, 10:22:20 AM »
My never ending story seams to keep going on . Awhile ago I posted that my 500 zforce was putting oil in air box ; thought the problem was solved but it still is putting some oil in the air box .I have been at the dealer for a more permanent fix and they have been at Cfmoto Canada (they have shown me all their emails) During all this I noticed when I backed out of my shed you could here some clunking also could here it if you were starting ahead very slowly . Talked to dealer and they said they had to set the clutches and they had one in the shop they had just done ;they let me back it and it was fine .Took mine to them and after the fix they went to back it out and it was binding .THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT !  After some work the dealer managed to get me a complete motor  . The only problem it is on a slow boat from China ( pun intended ) . Has been 2 months and still waiting . Dealer has been good have lent me a demo a couple times . Way beyond frustrating !

I agree but the dealer was told there were none in stock and it literally had to be shipped from China

I believe that the clunking is normal.  To me it seems like the wet clutch engaging and dis-engaging.  I always hear it when creeping my machine out of the barn or on to a trailer.  Anytime the machine is just above idle when the drive engages.  It's been clunking since the machine was new. No problems so far.

Dealer said that the tranny reguired over $1000 in parts alone . The clunking was getting progressively worse . Ian just as glad to be getting a new complete motor when it ever comes .

Who is your dealer -Hillsborough or yard gear? Shoot me an email 34577dgreen AT gmail.com

Bro in law and I have 16 zforce 500's We got at Yard Gear that has already had numerous issues.

Oil in air filter box
Leaking water pump seals
Mine shredded belt in first 500km

Now have 1000km on it -Not overly impressed with service or product at this point.

Got bike back went in Oct 12 and got back Mar03 . As had said before had trouble with oil in air box since day 1 . took in Oct to get clutch set up [cluncking ] Told trans shot , when they took motor out they took head off and noticed piston skuffed . Said they could rebuild motor and trans or if I could wait a couple of months Cf moto Canada would send a new motor . Told dealer if they would lend me a demo for the week I was going hunting then I would wait , they said they would . So i waited for a brand new motor . About 2 weeks ago Cfmoto Canada sent my motor rebuilt back to dealer NOT THE DEAL WE HAD MADE . Both dealer and I were pissed  . Also when dealer asked for a list of parts and pictures of what had been done CF Canada said they could not do that .  I believe my dealer Broadview Powersports did everything they could but CF Canada did not seam to think it was a very big deal or take it very serious . They did extend my warrenty for another year but since the dealer had had the bike more than I have in the last year I think that is the least they could do  , mind you I had to ask for it.
Dealer said they drove it about 50 km and no oil in box and I have only been able to drive it around the yard to damned cold and to much snow seams to work smoother and better , time will tell   .
