600 over reving
« on: June 05, 2023, 01:35:08 PM »
I've got a 2021 c-force 600 non-touring. It sounds and feels like it is over revving once I hit about 20 mph sounds like it wants to shift but it is not I took it to the shop they told me my band was slipping and it only had 32 miles on it so I paid over $400 to have the band replaced because it wasn't covered under warranty and it still does it. Someone had said I need to change the clutch out but I'm not sure

Has it always done this sense new or is this a recent development? As it only has 32 miles on it everything is still brand new...and the "Band" is actually called the Belt...and its true that CFM re-clutched them to run at a much higher RPM then they used to to get the HP numbers they advertised. That was cured with a spring change and/or heavier flyweights. They stuck it to you on that new belt..the one it likely didn't need. I would at least keep the old one for a spare.
