Got out for a ride on Sunday, mostly solo, my buddy was 6 1/2 hours late getting there. Rode to familiar areas, since I didn't know when he was going to show up, I needed to be in an area that he knew to get to. He told me he was going to be late, just not that late. Anyway, it was a pretty cold start to the ride, low 20's. Ran across a few deer that were cooperative enough for photos, one coyote that was not. I can't remember the last time I have seen a coyote on a ride, I normally don't see them. Got the CF Moto stuck, had to use the rear winch to free myself, there wasn't much snow where I got stuck and I was surprised it wouldn't pull itself out of it. Once I got done winching it out and started to drive it forward, I realized that I did not have it in 4WD, so there was a boneheaded moment. The old mind isn't what it used to be and it didn't start out that great. I'm sure in 4WD it would have pulled itself out no problem. Oh well, it let me make sure the winch still works properly. I only covered about 55 miles in the 10 hours of riding. We got more snow up here last week, so the shady areas are starting to get a little bit of a snow pack. Here are some photos, the pond is frozen enough to walk to the middle now, which is where the panorama photo was taken from.

Here's where it was stuck, there is snow under the front wheels, but not too much.

After winching out.

Somebody had a bad day on the trail, an oil pan hanging in the tree.
