Fishing was great at Slagamelt Lake. Once again we loaded up and headed to the Big Hole Valley. My wife family were some of the early settlers in this valley, so it holds a deep place in her heart. We chose Slagamelt because it was someplace she always wanted to go. Getting into this lake was a real son of a gun. This 50" or less trail presented some trail and turns that a Rocon has trouble maneuvering, but we did our due diligence and put this Zforce 800 Trail into situations that we really shouldn't have, only to be stopped by two boulders that would only allow machines less than 43" to pass, with no way around them. I found a place to pull off the road, we loaded our backpacks, flyrod and hiking poles and set off up the trail to this lake that sits at a elevation of 8567 ft. that is loaded with Brook Trout. A wonderful day spent in one of our National forests.
