Birthday Bash - Dirty Turtle Offroad (DTOR)
« on: April 21, 2016, 07:42:19 PM »
I went to Birthday Bash at Dirty Turtle Offroad (DTOR) this past weekend.  This is located in Bedford, Kentucky which is a bit Northeast of Louisville, Kentucky.

We did a couple nights of camping and rode all day Saturday and watched the rock bouncers do their thing on the Bounty Hill.  It was the first time I'd seen those in person and they're unreal in terms of what they can climb.  They also had a rock bouncer drag race on Saturday afternoon.

The videos below are from a pretty cool channel that has lots of extreme offroad videos.  I missed the SxS hill races because they were on Friday and I was en route to the park after work.  The riding there isn't too bad - it's a LOT of hills and mostly all dry and rocky.

They've also got a racetrack big enough to run SxS's on and it was a BLAST!  It was enough fun that I'm considering doing some amateur GNCC races if I can.

I had thought about going there but then i saw that its only 270 acres....thats REALLY small.  It just doesnt make sense to go there for such a small park.  Even The Badlands in Attica,IN is 700 acres
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

Yea we couldn't have asked for better weather.

After going I can say I probably won't go back just because there isn't enough riding.  I don't have any complaints about the place other than it's just not that big.  We covered all of the trails (we could find) in a little over half a day so it's not worth a long drive unless there's an event to watch or something like that.

I will say the staff was friendly and the park is probably the best kept park I've ever been to.  I don't think I saw any trash out in the woods.
