So i bought a basket case, '14 U800 High mileage (10,000km) with a knock. Turns out
it ate a rod bearing and the crank pin was damaged.. I had read an old post about someone
using Toyota bearings and regrinding the crank. So i did my own digging.

New (CFMoto) main bearings ($50), Resized rods ($50) & Toyota Rod bearings ($22), and reground rod pin ($125)
all said and done under $250 .

Seemed like easy math to me, as opposed to a new crank assy.

This i what i am in the process of doing... any interest in the particulars of this???

The only thing I might toss-in is that the only guy I know of that did that had an issue with oil pressure and turned-out the company that ground the crank made a mistake. I'm not sure what he did to rectify it..may have just put undersized inserts in it but it's something to watch.

Good. I was going to mention the cooler restriction but it's so rare I just didn't.

Thanks, good to know even for anyone else in the situation.. I have a local source
that did the work.. so I'm good to go! Everything is done and back i hand, just need to
find time to get back on it!

If ultimately there's little interest it likely die on the vine in this post, but if I do a
summary once complete... glad to give to you a shout out.
