I can't believe how hot my middle console gets. I don't want to even put my cell phone in there. and so much for keeping wanter in the cup holder, coffee wouldn't be a problem but make the water hot! Is it maybe that my fan does not kick in until the heat gage is up to 6 bars? Is my rad low on fluid? HOT HOT HOT!
6 Bars!? Most come on at 3. If it is really 6, then she's overhearing and you better get a new thermo-switch or find out why before you loose that engine...if it isn't too late already.

The dealer said that it was a thermo Switch and it has been a pretty common for the 2015's  They came and picked it up from my house at no charge and now are fixing it and dropping it off for me fixed. So good deal for me. I hope there is no damage to the engine when it did heat up, it only happened 2 times.

Thermo-Tec 14620 - Thermo-Tec Acoustical & Heat Control Mats

Has anyone considered using these to reduce the heat in the cockpit?

Isn't the heat that is diverted from the cockpit going to raise the engine temperature. Have You guys that have insulated the console noticed a rise in engine heat or heat somewhere else?

On my Z8 I have sealed off the center grill after moving the air intake and noticed NO change in engine temperature. I have also added extra shield/sound deadener other areas and sealed off the radiator heat front coming in through the dash with no change in temps ..except a very very nice reduction in the cab...especially important now with the windshield.

I used 2 rolls of this to cover everywhere I could.  Im wrapping the headers next.  The Thremo tec made a huge diffence, but the heat from the header is hard to overcome.  I couldnt find a way to effectively seal off the front hood area that would make any differnce in heat.
It made very little difference in the sound level... adding a Silencer muffler for that next.
