How do you test the oil pressure on 2015 Uforce 800? I recently had the oil lines replaced under a recall and within 30 miles they failed and lost all oil. Had no choice but to drive it back to the road for pickup. The dealer sent new oil lines which I installed and the motor seems quite but every once in a while the low oil pressure light flashes 3 times then goes out.

You ran it with no oil pressure ? Kiss that engine good by. Just pull the oil pressure sensor and install your test gauge there but you won't like what you see.

Thanks for the info. What should the oil pressure read?

From 1500RPM to 6000PRM the normal range will be 43.51psi to 60.91 per the manual. If you fine it significantly below this...there's a problem.

Is the oil pressure sensor easily accessible or do I need to remove the center between the seats?

I don't know on a UForce. But it is #2 in this manual cut:

I've decided that I want to run an oil pressure test on my 2017 Z8.

I've looked at the picture in the previous post found in the online service manual and it isn't exactly a clear picture (looks like magic marker!). I've also looked at a picture that Clark posted in the Mill light string, and it too is not clear. Both seem to indicate that the sensor is mounted horizontally, which wold make access pretty easy.

Looking at my engine, the only thing I see that looks like it might be the oil pressure switch is mounted vertically pointing up at the throttle body.

Does anyone have a clearer picture for the 2017 model, or otherwise confirm that the  oil pressure switch is mounted vertically?

Here is a picture of what I believe to be the oil pressure switch, between the rubber hose and the steel pipe (oil line?), and under the wiring  plugs for the IAC and TPS. Extra points if you can find an issue in the picture :-)

Yeah, that's it. I just checked mine. And that one connector isn't completely plugged in.Odd cause the manual's pics do show it horizontal but it's clearly vertical..at least on my 2015 800 block.

Thanks. Guess that means i need a pressure set with a right angle adapter ....

And we have  a winner!

Yes, I hadn't pushed the TPS plug back in before I took the picture :-)

I ordered the pressure test kit below because it had a 90 degree quick disconnect setup needed for getting into the tight space below the intake manifold of the Z800.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0186NTKP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The stock pressure switch requires a 21MM wrench.
The oil pressure adapter takes a 3/4 inch wrench.
I'm running Castrol motor cycle oil - 10w40.

Oil pressure started out pretty low between 10psi and 15psi, at idle at 20 degrees dead cold. I don't know how much of that was due to having to bleed the test hose to the gage. Pressure rose with engine temp and once fully warmed up,  pressure was between 35psi and 40psi at idle. Top pressure when increasing engine speed was just over 60. I assume there is a pressure relief valve in the mix set around that level.

I'm pretty happy with those results :-)

And I've learned that it is important to let these engines warm up before getting on down the trail.

Next oil change will be with 5w40 T6 to help with the cold temp oil pressures.

The dealer sent new oil lines which I installed and the motor seems quite but every once in a while the low oil pressure light flashes 3 times then goes out.

was it the lines or the clamps that failed?
I spoke with a product engineer at Ideal Tridon aka the clamp guys... and was told clamps are generally over torqued or not tightened enough.
they are supposed to be torqued between 30 and 42 inch /lbs.

And where would i find the recall?
