I am looking for some insight. I bought a u force tracker 800 last year with the engine seized soild due to lack of oil broken oil lines. Fast forward to now, I have the engine redone, running, and runs great. Oil lines replaced. I have the original oil pressure switch installed in this engine, and when I start the machine up I have the light on my dash for no oil pressure. Light is on all the time when machine is running. If I unplug the switch the light goes out. Does it sound like the switch is bad? Or did I miss something Internally of the engine?  I do have a fuel pressure gauge I can possible rig up to get the actual oil pressure but I would need to find some adapters. Is there a way to test the oil switch.? Like a bench test with a ohm meter  ?  I tested the terminal and the body, I gets like no resistance  like it is a closed circuit. Dont have the exact numbers. Can someone pull some numbers from their oil sensor and let me know what they are getting. So I can isolate this issue.

Hook up a gauge to make sure you are getting pressure. If that is ok then switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Agreed. Just test the actual oil pressure...need to anyway just to be sure. The oil pressure switch is just a simple switch with a spring that closes the connection below a certain pressure...like 8psi and opens the connect above. If you can rig regulated air to it you can also test it but you need to know what the engine is doing for piece of mind.

Sure. I do.

Use compressed air and a meter to test it. Easy.

But I would heed the advice given and use an oil pressure gauge to check the engine pressures after a rebuild.

Needs to be over 10psi at idle, and peak at ~60psi at high rev.

Put multimeter in ohms. One lead on body, other lead on the single wire terminal, put compressed air to the opening for the oil and put up to 130 psi air in the sensor. I failed to get the circuit to go "open". Now my next question. Should I order the same oil sensor. Or get the updated one with the wire adapter  that they are trying to sell me for 40 bucks canadian at the cfmoto dealer??

Well, JMO but because there has been so many bad CFM sensors lately...especially oil pressure, I would do about anything to put a non-CFM sensor back in. In fact, I would be looking at an electronic sending unit that would adapt into the metric port and put an actual gauge in, on...or under.. the dash. That's just me though.

Not a bad idea, do you know of a direct fit gauge that can fit? Or a listing on Ebay that would work?

I don't because I don't know the the thread and pitch of the switch...but you have yours out...you could measure it. It will be a metric size pipe and metric pipe thread.that range will have the same pitch. Many out there come with adapters..just need to know the one you pitch had the one you need. Some have forced an NPT in like an 1/8 or 1/4" but that F's up the case forever..and can leak. Don't do it! Have to use the right one.

I second the m10 x 1.0 thread pitch, I recently  retapped my oil pressure sensor bore and helicoiled since I over torqued the new switch and stripped out the threads. Don't over tighten those threads are fine and the aluminum is soft.

Just saw this, my new oil pressure sensor was much better quality than the old one that started leaking, it had the additional harness adaptor for the much beefier switch and connection.
