Hello everyone, I'm a land surveyor and use my Uforce 600 daily. I have about 260 hours on it and we work it in extremely dusty/rough conditions. I have been extremely happy with it. Just took it in for a 100 hour service and since then it has started having trouble starting, idling rough and stalling. If the accelerator is pressed it runs fine but still starts really rough. Sometimes takes multiple attempts to start. This didn't happen immediately after service but very soon after. Any ideas how i can fix it? I have a huge job coming up and the shops are weeks out. I know nothing of engines or vehicles but will work hard on it if that helps. Any info I can provide I will and thank you for reading.

PS if the emergency brake is engaged when I start it the problem is horrible, it will barely start. As soon as I disengage emergency brake it helps. I have had this problem since day one but thought marine it was a feature.

The parking brake issue is a separate issue IMO as all it does besides pull some cables is make a ground for the indicator light in the dash. That may be a grounding issue or power supply issue from system power...in that line of thought it may also effect the ignition system but there should be a low voltage error code come up. On the running issue many have had problems with the idle air control valve and/or the throttle position sensor. I would have them check out as well. You say you ride in dusty conditions so hopefully you did change out the OE air filer for the Unifilter. If not...better inspect the intake track for dust on the surface. It's not the minor amount of dust that gets stuck on the surface, its the mass amount that gets through that kills these engines....and all their filters let large amounts through. On average people that do not change the filter to ..."one that works"..and ride in dusty conditions bet less then 1100 miles out of their engines.

Thank you for the response. I plan to have it looked at asap but that will be a while. I haven't changed anything but get all recommended service every 100 hours. Can you give me a recommendation on that filter, is it Something I can do myself with limited knowledge? I would love to put one that works on and will follow your recommendation. I'm just ignorant in this area.

Well with the Unifilter you will have to service it yourself and sounds like that might not be something you will want to or may have trouble doing. Air filters have to be either replaced or serviced as needed and that can be after every ride at worst...or every few hundred miles at best. I suggest watching some videos on doing this and see if it something you can do.

Will do appreciate it. I'll look for a uni filter that fits my model and watch videos. Thanks man I don't want it ruined! I use it daily and thought I was taking good care of it but now I hope I haven't ruined it.

Worth taking care of. The #1 cause for early engine failure is particle ingestion. Remove that with proper filtration and the next most common is heat..as in overheating. Next is internal component failure as in oil system or valve train parts..& rod bearings but that's usually a result from overheating...and it only takes once to damage them and start the clock ticking.
