Clunk in the front end
« on: November 04, 2022, 09:48:07 PM »
I’ve noticed a clunk in the front end when I’m going over bumps. I put it up on the lift and can’t seem to find anything loose. The wheel bearing seem fine, tie rod ends seem tight and all suspension connections are tight. I can’t seem to find the cause of the clunk. Anyone experience this?

Is it on left or right side?

I've had stock shocks fail and sound like this.
I swap the shocks around to verify the knock follows the shock.

I second the shock possibility

mine failed as well driver side first
Mine was fine first half of ride then clunked once they heated up mid day

But unless you unbolt the shocks you’ll never truly know if the suspension is tight even if it’s off the ground

Yeah shocks on the U100s have had some issues. Don't rule-out a-arm bushings or ball joints though...no matter the miles.

Thanks for the advice. I suppose I never considered that they would fail so soon. I’ll take a look at that tomorrow. The clunk is on the front passenger side.
