For Sale / WTB first gen Z6 seat base
November 17, 2022, 03:02:17 PM
The mount thing that the seat bolts to...I bought a seat off eBay and didn't realize it didn't have the base/mount.  If anyone has one they could part with I'd appreciate it!

My battery keeps trickling down.  I checked my fuses and with the key off and out the one labeled horn/turn is still activated.  Is it suppose to be live?

yep I'm hoping I can just find the missing seat.  A local independent shop had this thing in for service...the guy I bought it from said they had it over a year and couldn't find out what was wrong and ultimately he left on bad terms and didn't collect his seat or a couple of panels.  There's currently one on eBay for $175 shipped.  I just hate spending that on such a simple little seat...

ZForce 600EX/600 / OIL FILTER ALTERNATIVES
September 25, 2022, 09:18:54 PM
This is being edited from the original since I found my answer:

For those looking for an oil filter for the Z6 you can just go to the store and buy...

The part number for the filter that came on my 2014 Z6 was cf188-011300.  Trying to find an oil filter locally was...interesting.  Amazon wanted $14 and I would have to wait a couple days.  The local dealer that would order it wanted $28...and wait a couple days.  I'd have probably been willing to spend $14 if I could just buy it and go home, but $28 is stupid even if it carried the instant gratification of just buying a filter and going home.  So we use math instead.

Gasket body is 70mm and thread pitch is 20mmx1.5, which is actually VERY generic.  The IDENTICAL cross reference for a filter common in the United States is the Fram PH6607.  This filter is available on almost every Wal-Mart shelf for $5.  The pictures make the CFMoto filter look bigger...but it's not.  The gasket is fully recessed on the CFMoto filter and it looks bigger in diameter at the flange because it's rolled on the outside vs inside.  Once saturated it's the same weight as the CFMoto filter +/- .5oz which suggests same metal gauge and media capacity.

Fram isn't your jam?  Mobil 1 M1-108 or K&N HP-1008 would fit, plus about 1 bajillion others.

Want MORE Fram?  The TG7317 is 20mm taller...or longer depending on your perspective...and is overall a superior filter.

If me using Fram offends you, you should also know that the oil I'm putting in this engine is used.  I get an unlimited supply of Mobil 1 oil drained from dental vacuum machines and I use it, and Fram filters, in everything because it hurts your feelings.

If you want a local cross reference for models, you can look up filters for a 1999 Mazda Millenia 2.3L V6.  There are Wix and Supertech and  Bosch and Mahle and Delco options.

I hope you guys find this information useful.

I don't have the baseplate either, unfortunately.  It's probably going to end up being more reasonable to just spend the $200 on a CFMoto seat...

My 2014 Z6 came with only one seat...I'm working on getting the missing seat back but no luck so far and am trying to find a backup plan.

Getting the missing seat off eBay is like $200...which I think is more than these things are work.  I've read that RZR seats are too wide...I can buy a pair locally for $100 though.  Can anyone confirm the width issue?

Has anyone tried using generic poly buggy/race buckets?

I can see in the wiring diagram that the ECU is connected to that circuit but it's hard to tell if it's controlling it or sensing feedback from the circuit.  The circuit going through teh ECU doesn't seem beefy enough to be able to handle the current for the fuel circuit...there is a relay but the wiring diagram has the ECU and the "oil fuel pump" on the load side of the relay.  I may be looking at it incorrectly but I'll find out for sure on Monday with the new ECU

My preference is to make this thing work as is but if it gives me too much drama I've got a really nice Honda RC44 750cc twin I'd like to cram in there lol

I've gotten conflicting information here and on facebook lol

Thanks for the manual, I'm going to have to spend some time going over wiring and stuff.  This thing looks like it's spent the last four or five years outside in Texas wind and dirt...CFMoto's wiring connections were not meant for that kind of "abuse".

So I bought this thing for $400...clearly needs some work...no spark.  After some fishing around I think I identified the "no spark" cause:

https://youtu.be/RWIqtKaWtU0

So now I have a new ECU coming...in the mean time I'm trying to sort out all the other "stuff"...starting with getting the fuel pump going.  It's not priming.  Yesterday with the ECU full of water the fuel pump was running, today with it disconnected (and connected after it dried out) it's not running.

Does the ECU turn the fuel pump on and off?  What safeties are in place that would prevent it from turning on when the key is turned on?

Anyone got one laying about?  The $200 price tag on eBay is stretching my budget a little thin

Found one, thanks
