Good to know, I've got what I think is a bad Stator and am having issues with it staying running. I assume the issue is with the EFI once the voltage it low enough the computer shuts down the fuel and spark.

CForce 500 / Re: How hot is OK. How many bars on thermostat?
September 14, 2021, 08:38:04 PM
On my 2015 CForce 500, it runs normally at 3 bars. 4 bars and the fan kicks in to bring it back down to 2-3 bars.
On the hottest of hot days and working it hard I've seen it get to 5 bars.
In my experience if it goes above 5 you have some sort of issue. Either your water pump is leaking (check for coolant coming from the weep hole) or your fan isn't kicking in. I would say if you're still able to run it sounds like the fan isn't working or the switch that kicks it in doesn't.
I've replaced the water pump 2 times and when it starts weeping it doesn't take long for it to get up to the top of the guage. I've never run it when it got to the top, ended up in one case had to be towed out as with the heat on the day it was not cooling down at all to be able to limp it back out.

CForce 500 / Re: 2015 CForce 500 runs for about 5 minutes then starts to sputter and dies
September 13, 2021, 09:27:41 AM
So had some time this weekend to look into further. It's not the gas cap as that had no effect on it not starting.
Now, giving it a week to dry out ran perfectly for 45 minutes just in my yard driving around.
So I tried spraying water on it and eventually got the issue to repeat. Not sure yet on what the issue is but definitely related to something shorting.
I have a question that may explain the problem, the stator has 2 leads coming from it, a larger 3 pin plug which is the charging circuit and another 2 wire lead that I still need to trace? Does anyone know what this is for, I assume a sensor.
Also I found a broken insulation on the stator lead wires and the plug has has melted partially internally, which is another issue but despite this it is charging the battery.
Let me know your thoughts and best next steps?

CForce 500 / 2015 CForce 500 runs for about 5 minutes then starts to sputter and dies

Looking for some opinions on where to start on this issue.
I had the bike out in some very wet conditions, nothing where I swamped it or anything but just a lot of puddles and raining at the same time as well.
It ran fine until my return back home, where it started to cut out and eventually quit running. When I tried to start it again it just cranked and cranked. Eventually is would idle but as soon as you touched the throttle it died. I had a friend tow me out and home, and the next day after it dried out it started up again no problem but only for about 5-10 minutes then did the same started to miss and die. Then I was able to re-start it but only could get it to idle. It also starts quire hard needs 10-15 seconds of cranking to start after this starts.
I checked the voltage that is fine, there is plenty of fuel in the tank and when it runs it runs normally for the short time that is does.
There's a list of things I can check such as the fuel pump, O2 sensor, ignition. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and thoughts on where to start?

CForce 500 / Re: How to change clock on 2015 cforce 500 classic?
May 25, 2017, 08:13:37 AM
Will have to look for this, I've been trying to understand how to do anything with the display, I just assumed there was nothing to change it with.
i actually had it once change to a trip odometer and I have no idea how or that it even had one. It changed back at some point so I've always assumed there
must be some way to change it.

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / Re: Brake Life and Aftermarket Pads?
March 27, 2016, 01:42:50 PM
I wanted to reply directly to this topic even despite the age as it's the only one I could find directly related to using aftermarket brake pads.
For a CForce 500, which I think is an X5 in the US, if you take a FA159R from EBC and drill out the holes with a 1/2 drill so they are round, they fit and work great. I did this last year and got over 1,000km on them. In fact I replaced them last night and there was still about 30% pad left. The stock ones from CFMoto I got about 350km out of them and they were completely gone.
And at least from where I bought them, the EBC ones were actually cheaper than the CFmoto OEM ones.
** I just looked now and the ones I used they now have one that is an exact (at least for mine). 2015 Cforce 500. EBC FA453R. They do list the one that were listed above too for the older models, I guess you really have to look at your pads to see which ones you have **

How To's (New Topics are to be Instructional Only) / Brake Pad Replacement
October 15, 2015, 09:23:21 PM
This applies to a 2015 CForce 500 most likely other CForce models would be similar or same.
My Brake pads were completely shot after about 600km, and wanting to replace them with something of a higher quality I asked at the dealer for any suggestions. They told me I could buy EBC Brakes for a Polaris Sportsman and simply drill the mounting holes with a 1/2 drill bit and they would go on no problem. These are the 2 parts numbers I have used and aside from modifying the mounting holes they fit perfectly fine. They don't have the tab in the centre which does cause them to seem to move around more but I've got almost 700km on these pads and not worn out yet. Absolutely no issues with braking, exactly the same probably better than with the stock pads. Also they were about $7 cheaper than the OEM ones.
EBC FA159X & FA159R.
These are for the front pads, I still have lots of Pad on the rear.
