Does anyone know the size and threads of the nut that holds the wet clutch on the crankshaft?
It is LH Thread T2 in the picture.
A CFmoto part number would help. I can't find this info anywhere...

The service manual is lacking...

I found out the messy way that you must drain the antifreeze and the oil before you remove the CVT Cover.

1st Issue- the "one way clutch" bearing is bad. I can shake it in CVT Cover.
2nd Issue- the left handed clutch nut is stripped and it will not come off the shaft.

Any suggestion from anyone who has dealt with this issue.
How do I remove the one way clutch from the CVT Cover on a 2020 Zforce Trail 800?

I'm leaning toward using my Dremel to carefully cut the nut top and bottom to remove it.

Noise without primary & secondary drives installed:

Noise primary & secondary drives installed:

I'm thinking / hoping it is the wet clutch & bearing...

What is your opinion?

I will put it back together tomorrow and make a clip.

The sprocket holder from Amazon works great!

NMKawierider,

I appreciate your quick replies and all of your help!

It has a ticking noise that comes from the clutch area. It was making this noise even when I had the outer cover on the primary & secondary clutches before I changed the belt.
It doesn't make this noise with the clutches removed...

I've ridden in other side by side's mainly Can Am Mavericks & this ticking noise isn't normal.

I'm trying to decide if the noise is coming from the wet clutch bearing or wet clutch.

The secondary clutch is clocked at B-1 so I don't think the previous owner took the secondary clutch apart but I am fairly sure they removed the secondary clutch due to the new grease that was on the shaft when I removed it and the primary was removed due to the cross threaded nut...

I installed the primary and secondary clutches with the new belt today & something isn't right.

Both clutches spin all the time and it sounds like something is loose in one of the clutches or the transmission...

Any ideas?

I was leaning towards this thread.   https://cfmoto-forum.com/800ex800/cvt-clutch-noise/

Thanks for the replies.  I will keep the belt as a backup.

Hopefully when I put it back together and tighten the nuts to specs it will work without any problems.

You can tell the belt was replaced just before it was traded in to Carl Malone. Both clutches are spotless. The threads on the rear spline are okay. I purchased 2 nuts in order to run one on and off a couple of times.

I'm not 100% sure of the shifting problems because I've been repairing it.  The gas pedal cable was out of its slot on the throttle body so it would only idle...

The last owner installed some led lights on the roll cage using the winch wiring and control button... It was the worst wiring job I've ever seen! The wires were twisted together and a non-electrical tape was used that did not stop the wires from coming lose and pulling apart.
The dash would light up but the starter would not turn over.

All of that mess has been rewired back to the original wiring.

I did notice when we were loading it and unloading it it kept jumping into park. But since I've rewired it back to the original wiring it hasn't done that while I've been pushing it around my garage.

I could hear some ticks coming out from the area of the drive belt cover when I finally started it and ran it.
I was expecting to find a worn belt that was some-what shredded but the belt is whole only with grooves worn into the sides of the it.

Is it okay to run the engine without the clutches installed in order to see if the ticks have stopped?

Thanks!

On my 2020 Z800 Trail I found the rear drive pulley nut cross threaded with the threads almost stripped out and the front drive pulley nut was barely past hand tightened...
I'm sure neither of the  nuts were  torqued to CFMoto specifications.

Any ideas on whether or not this would cause shifting problems?
This is the reason that Carl Malone sold it to me at a reduced price.

I've already orders 2 new nuts for the rear drive pulley. I am lucky that the shaft wasn't damaged...
I also ordered a new ULTIMAX UA UA484 drive belt for it.
