CForce 800, X8 / Bent Tie Rod Ends
October 19, 2015, 03:07:20 PM
Looks like our recent tire/bent rim incident also did some suspension damage.  Once I got the new tire on my steering is WAY off and its off on both front wheels.  So when the steering is straight,  both wheels are off to the right and not parallel.

I took off both wheels and the right side steering tie rod and it looks like the tie-rod ends got bent.  I am guessing that since the inner rod-ends are both joined at the center 'link'  (actually the bottom of the steering box),  then the damage went right on over to the other side and bent at least the other inner rod end.

So..  I think I need to replace all for rod ends.  Anyone have the part#  or (hopefully) a good source for aftermarket part that will fit, and I can get quickly???   I know that one is reverse thread so I am looking for both the inner and outer part #s..

thanks..

Your problem was with air filters right?, because i just buy an KN 152 for my first oil change.

How many miles/km at your first oil change?

I was also wondering about possibly using synthetic oil on the 800.  Not sure if it will work ok with the wet clutch.

Just an FYI, CFMoto US is going to start recommending the following as a suitable aftermarket replacement for the stock air filter:
Twin Air filter is p/n 156052FR, the dust cover is p/n 156052DC.

They sent me one, and its a fantastic replacement.

Will this Twin Air Filter work for a CForce 800 too?

This one?

So are you saying you can change time without this tool?  I have a bead breaker that I think will work.  I was just not sure how hard it was to slip the tire on/off the rim.   Like I said,  I have changed sportbike tires which is a bit of a wrestling match.  So I was just wondering if these were as hard to deal with.

Also,  do you worry about balancing these ?

General Discussion / Tire change on 14" alum wheels.
October 06, 2015, 10:17:34 PM
Incident today.  .. damaged the sidewall of a front tire on our CF800.   I just ordered a replacement.  CST ABUZZ 26X9-14

I have replaced sportbike tires.  Is this tire something I can replace?  The Harbor Freight "mini tire changer" only works up to 12" wheels apparently.    I have a bead breaker that We used to remove my kid's motorcycle tires.  Is the rest of this doable?

What are you using for this job?

General Discussion / oil filter Part #s for CF800
October 06, 2015, 02:03:44 PM
I was looking for an option to source oil filters locally, (or nearby).  I have the factory part# and a little more info that I would like to confirm.

Is the K&N   KN-152 a good replacement for the 800cc motor?  Its starting to look like this is a common filter, but would like know what the comparable part#s are.

I like Wix filters, so I was hoping to find the cross-application so I could look that up and get a couple to keep on hand.

QuoteThe factory part # on the oil filter is 0800-011300-0004

I think Hi-Flo makes a replacement, but I don't know what their part number is.

CForce 800, X8 / Re: Need to add mirrors to CF800

Very Nice!   Can you tell me if your left side mirror attaches to the bar with a separate bracket?  Or to the switch housing like on the right side?

I might see if the dealer can just order me a set of stock mirrors.  I suspect they would be way overpriced compared to what I can just order from amazon.

I might try something like this...

General Discussion / Re: Got a Dump Trailer
October 04, 2015, 07:40:59 PM
You are exactly right.  For now, I am pulling the dump cart and my aluminum Kayak trailer.  Its a healthy walk down to the river, and I just about wore myself out the first couple times I carried both our touring kayaks down and back.  The wife's is a 45# kevlar model, but mine is fiberglass and closer to 60#.  That does not sound like much, but balancing it over your head, with PFDs and other gear is a real workout.  Now I just back up the CF800 to the barn and hook up the trailer.     :)

I did not fix the seat yet.  I have been traveling for work a lot lately. I have been looking at options for seat materiel, but that's as far as I have gotten.

Yea, plenty of oak trees on my property. these are just some of the branches that have fallen and built on on my drive and paths.

Purchased from Sante Fe Power Sports in Alachua, FL.   They have been very pleasant to deal with and are just a few minutes down the road from me.  Right off I-75 north of Gainesville, FL.

CForce 800, X8 / Need to add mirrors to CF800
October 04, 2015, 10:32:30 AM
My CForce 800 did not come with mirrors on lt.  I will be pulling a trailer around my property and would like mirrors.  Its looks like the mirror mount hole is present on the right side, but not on the left.

I see many aftermarket mirrors (with mounts) on Amazon.  I like the looks of the stock mirrors and would like something like, or similar to that.

Anyone have a good recommendation?  Source?

I really thought hard about getting a sideXside for the dump bed.  Ended up with the CF800 ATV,  so adding a small trailer gets me pretty close to what I needed.

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / Re: What oil?
October 02, 2015, 07:00:51 AM
QuoteCastrol 10 40 in the engine with a K&N Filter. Valvoline synthetic on the gears.  When you change the oil be advised that the funnel and hose they give you will not fit in the fill hole

K&N oil filter?  Do you have a part # and source for that?

Very nice.  I would also like some details on the cargo box.  Make/model?

Is that wind windscreen stock?

General Discussion / Re: Replace Seat covers on CF800?
September 24, 2015, 05:06:42 PM
QuoteIf you know how to do upholstery than just take the old cover apart for the pattern. Marine grade material will be a good choice. If it works out nice, than you might have a good side cash job if you wanted

Exactly what I plan to do.  The front looks super easy. The original does not have any seams.  I might replace it with a two-tone accent stripe.  The back will be a little harder.  I think it will be worth it so have a nicer and more durable seat.

It just stinks to look at my brand to ATV with less than 50 miles on it with a big ugly hole in the seat.  This project is just my way of dealing with it.

I saw this one on youtube.  I am still pretty new to this, and have no intention of swimming in Mud!  However...  This snorkel is the least offensive looking modification I have seen on any ATV so far.
