Got the 800 back the other day.  They didn't find anything wrong with the cooling system.  It is running now between 3 and 4 bars as I let is idle for a while. Fan comes on at 4, it cools down to 3 and fan shuts off. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but prior it was running at 5 and 6 bars just sitting in the yard idling, sometimes up to 7 bars and fan never stopped.  It was fine the day before I dropped it off, but I figured I had the appointment already, so might as well have them look at it and now at least it is documented in case an issue later.  It was covered by warranty with no charge.  Great dealer. They even aligned the front end for free.   Maybe the air got worked out of the system or I may have an intermittent thermostat issue.  I'll keep an eye on it and see if it stays at the 3 /4 bars it should run at.

I just dropped my trail 800 off at the dealer to check a heat issue.  I run at 6 bars, sometimes 7 and the fan never shuts down.  I think bouncing between 3 and 4 is where you want to be.

I didn't see anything that looked bent, but I did not remove the inner boot. I assume no adjustment on the inner side?

I am not real familiar with alignment and toe, but I guess I need to watch some videos. I just turned the tie rod a few times until the wheel looked straight and that also made the steering wheel return to center.  I didn't do a test ride yet.

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / Tie rod adjustments
August 18, 2021, 06:54:06 PM
My kid clipped a log and the front right was slightly off and steering wheel was a little off center. I adjusted the tie rod end and the wheel looks straight and the steering wheel returned to center.

I only adjusted the outer tie rod. I didn't remove the boot on the inner. Is there any adjustment there?  I had to go out about a half inch and want to make sure I still have enough of the tie rod end in the rod.

I run a business that deals with a lot of different electronics that we get from China and supply chain issues and lead time are affecting all industry.  Hoping that we'll get some nice deals on new cars next Spring when the chip shortage starts getting worked out.  Acres and acres of cars and trucks sitting around waiting on one last part.

I let it idle for at least an hour after cap was back on.  It stayed steady at 5 bars with the fan running.  I am going to flush the antifreeze this weekend and see try this test again to see what happens.  Is there a thermostat somewhere I can change out?  I didn't see anything inline on the hoses back to the motor.

Any recommendations on what to use?  You must have some serious heat in NM to deal with.

Thanks. I just did that and when the fan comes on I do see some swirl where the cap goes so I think that means it's circulating. It's staying at 3 bars on the temp gauge idling for about 30 mins now.   I am going to try this a few times over next couple days. Seems to be ok now but maybe the thermostat is having intermittent issues.  Do they use quality antifreeze or should I change it to be safe?

We are doing some light trail riding.  After about 10-15 mins The fan comes on as normal when it hits 4 bars on the temp gauge and the gauge goes up two more and stays there. Fan continues to run, but it doesn't cool down. Always up where only two bars left at the top of the gauge. That seems too hot to me.   Is that normal?

I've got about 140 miles on this thing now.  Put the uni filter on and did first oil change at 100 miles.

Thanks for the info. I saw a set of wheels for sale locally. Do you know if these would fit the cfmoto?  The 2ply gotta go!

Thanks.  That one looks a little trickier than the other two.  Is there any other vent or hose that I need to look at snorkeling for deep water riding?

I have been doing research and planning on snorkeling the air intake directly between the seats and the CVT intake behind the drivers seat. Today I took off the center cover to install harnesses and see another intake attached to CVT. That one is way lower than the others and huge. Does that also need to be snorkeled?  I don't see any mentions of that area anywhere.

Thanks! Found the AST and ordered it.

Thanks for the tips. I just dropped the faulty seat belt off and confirmed that a snorkel kit will not void the warranty so that is on the list. I'm in the northeast, so dust isn't as much as a concern.

Anyone know where I can find the Uni air filter?  Seems to be out of stock everywhere I've looked.

Thanks. Moving the wheel in that far does not sound like it'll work.

I'm ordering a couple new uni air filters, oil filters and maybe the 1.5 wheel spacers today. Oh, and some fuses!

Have to take the seat belt back to dealer and hoping they'll give me a discount in some harnesses instead of a replacement.

Just picked up a 2021 zforce 800 trail. Did about 100 miles this last week and pretty happy with it so far. Drivers seatbelt failed about 50 miles in and I had to change the fan blower fuse at 75 miles. We probably didn't treat it as nice as you should a new machine. My wife had it sunk in a mid puddle in the first two hours. Lol. We rode it hard for the first 100 and so far so good. I expected a couple small things to go wrong and I'm pretty handy.
A few things I'll be looking up here to get started on making this machine better.... If there is something any new owner should be doing by default, let me know.

1. Air box mods or snorkel. Wonder if it voids the 3 year warranty I upgraded to?

2. ditching the seatbelts for harnesses

3. Adding a light bar. (Already bought one)

4. Wheel spacers?  It doesn't feel tippy at all like I thought it would, but might add 1.5's anyway.

5. Windshield!!!

6. Taking off the doors and putting the nets on for now. Might look for full doors for winter.

7. Is there anything to make the steering more responsive?  Seems like a lot of turning off the wheel to actually turn. That power steering sure is sweet though!
