I figured the chassis might be basically the same, you would then use control arms, axles and shocks from the trail. The old trick in the day, when i raced motorcycles, was to put the gsxr1100 motor in the 750 frame.Just thoughts.....

General Discussion / ZForce 1000 trail ?
March 03, 2020, 12:11:54 PM
Anyone ever think of converting a ZForce 1000 into a trail model by using the 800 trail components? And has anyone ever done this or know if the components will work?Just curious,as a 1000 cc in a trail would be awesome.

I use bulk furnace filter material wrapped around my pre-wrap unifilter.Works great as it catches much fine dust, after all, thats what furnace filters do.

Just curious, are you driving directly over big rocks or logs?I've not even hardley scraped my plastic skids on my 500 trail, and i've ridden over some pretty gnarly stuff.

How To's (New Topics are to be Instructional Only) / Re: Z8 Engine Air Intake Tube Change-Out
July 15, 2019, 01:34:21 PMQuote from: NMKawierider on December 15, 2016, 07:05:46 PM
Intake tube change-out.
While I was working on the CV intake system I had a chance to take a second look at the intake tube and although I installed a 3" intake on the end of that tube, the tube leading into it was much smaller
This works out to about 1.5". The manual says the throttle body is a 48mm which works out to 1.88". Ok, so..this should make restriction at some point and put a vacuum on the airbox. To test this I rigged a vacuum gauge on a long hose to the water drain port on the box and ran it up to the passenger seat so I could see it. Started it and gunned it. The needle only quivered a little at first then above ¾ throttle it pulled about ½" of vacuum. Well that's not very much so I took it to the road in front of my house, put it in low and nailed it. This time it built up slightly over 1" of vacuum. Still not excessive but...you know me... can't leave well enough alone. So....
Coming off the airbox the boot is slightly over 2.5" and the OE tube makes a 70 degree bend. All I need to have is a 2.5" tube that I can oval like the OE tube and a 3" to 2.5" rubber 90, a new 3" joiner and some clamps to rid myself of this restriction. Bought these items:

Custom cut to fit my application then ovaled the tube and installed using better clamps.
Still have my large oiled gauze filter on the outside with the 3" intake.
Tested it again after reassembly and no vacuum build up at all..not even a quiver on the needle. And it did seem to be a little.. "perkier". Might be my imagination though...lol
This was probably completely unnecessary... but not hard to do and it offers piece of mind that this will not be any reason to run out of power near the top of some sand dunes .
are you still running this air filter tube set-up,and if so how is it working out?

General Discussion / Re: Uni filter slip of ?

Probably oil from the filter.Clean both the adapter and the inside of the filter where it contacts the adapter with rubbing alcohol. This will remove the oil residue and not damage the plastic adapter or the rubber on the filter.Make sure both are dry when re-installing.

General Discussion / Unifilter slipping off
June 12, 2019, 09:42:17 PM
My new unifilter keeps slipping off the plastic adapter,i have cleaned and dried both pieces, and yet either the clamp slips off or the filter slips off the adapter.Anyone ever use weatherstrip adhesive to glue to the adapter?

Thinking About Buying a CFMOTO? / Re: Post up your make, model, mileage, and problems to date here!

2018 ZForce 500 trail, love the machine, here are some minor first problems.Missing bolt that holds exhaust to the side of the block, broken exhaust spring, dust from original air filter in intake system. To me these are minor, and acceptable as they are an easy fix, mostly due to Q/C.Air filter issue is standard, and i should have known to put a better one on first.I am happy thus far and hope to have many good years with this machine!Btw,wife loves it,and thats all that matters!

Good. The #1 killer of these engines has been particle ingestion. The #2 has been heat.

June 05, 2019, 01:39:20 PMQuote from: Motoduner on June 05, 2019, 11:30:05 AMI just ordered one yesterday,my original cfm filter did allow fine dust into the intake system.I only have 97 miles, but i am not chancing it,cfmoto on my 500 trail put a fine mesh black sock over the intake, but it still got through anyway...
Has everyone switched to a uni filter??![]()
Just curious on everyone's 2 cents, power gains? Throttle Response?
