I have a 2014 terralander 800, last year I took it to the dealer to fix a variety of electrical issues (Rad fan, fuel pump, gauges not working). First time around cost me just shy of $2000. now 2 rides later I have an O2 sensor code flashing, the dealer told me to replace the o2 sensor in number 1 cylinder. I changed the sensor and now the code is still flashing after 15mins of riding and my bike is gut less and randomly has all its power or bogs down to having very little power and sounds awful. Without looking at it the dealer wants to replace the entire wire harness, I was wondering if any one can point me in a direction before I pay another $2000 on this thing.

General Discussion / 2014 trail tracker running hot
September 26, 2021, 02:21:37 PM
Took the bike for a ride this weekend. We had to do alot of road running to get to the trails, seemed like 30mins of driving at 70km the bike wasn't able to cool fast enough and the bike was getting too hot causing the MIL light to come on. Once we got to the trail the bike ran good no MIL light for the entire trail ride. On the way back was about 45 mins of road running and again the bike ran hot again. Any ideas on how I can get the bike to run cooler? Possibly a new water pump? Temp gauge is not currently registering so the dash didn't display any bars the entire ride but you can tell the bike is running hot, I can smell and feel the heat coming from it while running the road. I can only assume when the MIL light is coming on it's due to overheating. Rad is full of coolant, rad fan and switch is functioning, going to replace the temp sensor on the cylinder in hopes the it will register the temp again on the gauge. I just need to know if I can correct this or if I'm wasting my time?

General Discussion / 2014 trail tracker EFI light
September 16, 2021, 08:09:58 PM
I have a 2014 trail tracker 500 2up. I have replaced the rad fan and the switch on the rad itself. I am able to run the fan by using a jumper wire instead of the rad switch. I find while the bike is idling the temp on the gauge doesn't rise, nor does the fan come on at all. After about 5-10mins the error light comes on and stays solid as this model doesn't flash a code. If I then jump the fan with a wire after a few minutes of the fan being on the error light then shuts off. It feels as if the bike is over heating but the temp gauge isn't moving nor is the rad fan switch turning the fan on. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or anyway I can safely test my theory without damaging the atv? How long should it take for a bar to show on the temp gauge?

General Discussion / Rad fan not kicking on

My rad fan isn't coming on and my temp isn't registering on my 800 terralander. The fan does work when I connect 12 volts to it. Would the CTS be the problem? I was thinking the thermal switch on the rad but the CTS is what registers the temp correct?

Hello Everyone
I posted my problem back in the spring sadly i was unable to find a solution, so put the atv away for the winter but with spring here now I'm hoping to get this issue fixed and to get out riding.

I have a 2014 800 terralander, I bought it used and unfortunately it never really worked well it was always running rich and fouling plugs. i found that the previous owner had way too much oil in it, well above the dip stick line. so the atv was running I parked it then 2 days later I removed about 20 oz of oil from the engine so that it was about 3/4 the way up the dip stick. That was all I did and when I tried to start the atv the starter would turn over but I had no spark and my fuel pump wouldn't engage to prime the line. I have tested the kill switch contacts, and i have tested the fuses and swapped relays without any success.
