Spanish side by side fleet Fforze Z550
« on: March 29, 2018, 08:43:02 AM »
Hi all, My name's Peter and I am the original 'grumpy ol' mechanic'  and fleet mechanic for 11 (at the moment) Z550 side by side buggys near Estepona, Spain.

We have been using them commercially since December and so far, apart from oil and filters at 500Km, the only problems have been exhaust springs breaking and the loss of one cone seal and one caliper that leaked (rear left) with rotten seal (at 650KM).

Customers seem to enjoy them on the 40Km on/off road tour that last two hours with a couple of stops. (see www.marbellabuggys.com)   although those who have been on our tours last year in GS Moon XYKD260/2 say it was more fun, even if getting up hils was a problem with a few heavier clients.

I must say that due to the reliability of the CFMOTO Z550 I am out of work now but I am sure there will be some work as they get older.

Welcome. Glad they have been working out so well...I guess..lol. Says a lot when a fleet used by different drivers every day hold up that well.

Considering these vehicles are designed and manufactured with domestic/recreational use in mind, maybe a couple of time a month and we go out two or three times every day, it is a lot and as you say, with different drivers too.

The old Moons got hammered and I still managed to keep them running and in fact they have now been transferred to another office with less hills, so still running, The boss at least  just hopes these will prove less work.

Welcome aboard.  I think I've seen you over on buggynews.com as well, right?  Glad to hear you're liking the CFMoto.  I agree, the little buggies can be more fun to drive, but they do require a lot of maintenance.

Yes I am on Buggynews but I find it a bit slow and GS Moons are not covered very much. This seems to be a much better supported forum, I wish my own was so.

Yeah, the GS Moon is not a real common buggy, so the advice is probably hard to come by.  As far as China buggies go, that is THE best place for advice, though.  The 250cc buggy is along the wayside anymore, at least in the states since I believe they can no longer be imported.  The 300cc Trailmaster is about the only comparable machine.  I think those are pretty solid, but not much for upgrades have been identified.
