There you go. One quick question though...are you super-sure you have the sleeve between the two all the way inserted? I don't remember having that much distance between the clamps nor that one ridge outside the rubber. Here's a few of mine. The first one is my over-sized one but you see little sleeve in either.

Great! One side note...we tell every new owner- Not sure if CFM is putting their new foam air filter on the 1000s but make sure you do not have their old stock paper filter wrapped with foam. It's an engine killer. It will filter-out the gravel but that's about it...well that's exaggerated a bit..but you get the jest.

First thing we did was fit a 'turbo' pre-filter and Twin-air foam.
Don't know what difference that will make on the 550 but on our old GS Moon 260 we were changing piston rings every 2 months due to the very dusty conditions here in Spain but with the Twin-Air and a VERY light oil spray, 6 to 8 months plus before the dreaded smoky exhaust appears.

Hi, thanks for sharing.
I am looking at buying a CFMOTO Z1000, but friends are pushing me to buy Can-am/polaris/ Yamaha.
Is this your first CFMOTO? if not, did you have problems with your prevous one? or was it reliable?
Could you post some videos when you can, there are not many videos of the Z1000 being used.
Hope you have a great day.

I wonder what your friend's motivations are for trying to redirect you into buying one of those makes? Genuine concern for your recreational riding future, and their own conservatism and fear of the lesser known brand, or fear that you are going to spend less than them and yet get a machine that will eat theirs for breakfast? :D

Good point. With proper maintenance with a splash of common sense,  the CFM machines are as..if not more..reliable then most others...at far less the cost. Get the new 1000, follow the tips found on this forum..and let them eat your dust.

Well I made a video yesterday of a top speed run, acceleration in high range, a low range run showing just how low the low side is.  Now it's a fairly shitty video because it was filmed with my phone but it gives some information on these things. I'll get it up on YouTube and post the link here.
