New to CF Moto and new to the forum
« on: February 21, 2018, 01:14:09 PM »
Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and my ride. My name is Johnny and I'm from Mississippi. I just bought (2-17-18) a ZForce 1000 and I absolutely love this thing!! I look forward to the discussions on this forum. I know the 1000 is fairly new so if anyone has any specific questions, I'd be glad to look at mine and tell ya.

Welcome Johnny. Thanks, your input will be most valuable as many of us have questions about the 1000. And congrats by the way.. :)

Thank you sir! I've got 32 miles on it so far. I had a small coolant leak yesterday. I'm trying to run it every day to get it broke in as well as see if any problems come up. The coolant leak was just a screw plug (I guess that's what it's called) on the radiator. It's located on the passenger side of the radiator above the bottom radiator hose. It only needed tightened up, no biggy at all. I've had it up to 65 MPH and it was still pulling hard. When I change the break in oil, I'll give her a solid top speed run. I can't recommend this thing enough, I absolutely LOVE it!! I have an awesome dealer as well. He stocks a snorkel kit for it for $260, I'll be buying that. The owner of the dealer got the first one and I got the second one, I was the first customer to buy the 1000.

Great! One side note...we tell every new owner- Not sure if CFM is putting their new foam air filter on the 1000s but make sure you do not have their old stock paper filter wrapped with foam. It's an engine killer. It will filter-out the gravel but that's about it...well that's exaggerated a bit..but you get the jest.

Ah yes, my dealer actually done an air filter swap before I could leave with it. He said something about it being an updated air filter, I just went with it. I will definitely take a look at that though. Is there a service manual out for the 1000 yet? I would buy a paperback but I can't seem to find anything on it yet. Thanks for the heads up my friend!

Congrats on your purchase. If the air filter element is a foam one, blue with CF Moto logo on it then chances are it's the 'upgraded' filter that I also got on my 2017 800 and it can and should be improved upon still. I found dust in my intake tract when supplied with that filter. The recommended aftermarket foam filters are Uni and Twin Air, used with properly applied good quality foam oil.
After my buying one each of the filter elements noted above I examined each, and came to my personal opinion that the Uni is markedly better of the two.

Have fun!

Hey, I am all about listening to someone that is wiser than me!! If you could, provide me with a link to that Uni filter that I need and I'll buy it. I definitely want this rig to last and I do know that ANY amount of dust and/or dirt is just a shit way to waste an engine. I still can't get over how stout this 1000 is! Damn it's fun!!

One thing someone with a 1K needs to do is check that it still has the 2.25" intake tube. They may have increased that size on the 1Ks.

Thank you sir!! I'll check the size and report back. But for now, I'm taking off work early to get her ready for a ride tomorrow.

Here is the air filter kit that my dealer installed.  Exactly what part of the intake tube do you want measured?  Before the filter?  I'll be glad to provide any info that I can!

***I tried to upload a photo but it said that my photo failed security measures or something like that...

Try reducing the size.

I tried reducing the size and I still got this message:   "Your attachment has failed security checks and cannot be uploaded. Please consult the forum administrator."

Do I have to have so many posts before I can post up pictures?  The picture size is 2.8 MB

Yes, the photo is way over the max size. There is also a limit as to how many you can upload. These all take up room on the server which has to have some limits but if you open an account with any hosting service like "Imur", you can upload all your photos there at any size and post IMG links in any forum thread with no limits...because as far as the server is concerned, the links are just text. Its the browser that displays the image not the host server.
