Anyone had issue with a hard brake pedal? I just picked up the 2016 Z Force 800EX and you need to stand on it to get it to stop and doesn't stop quickly. It may need a bleed but being new i thought it would be ok. if it does need a bleed is there any particular process or do i just start from the closet to to the master cylinder and work outwards to the furthermost caliper. As this is the first CF Moto i have had your help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah mine when new was so bad I classified it as dangerous. At first I found what looked like an anti-rust protectant was left on the disks. I cleaned all with brake clean and eventually it started working better... but only to a point. My pedal was also solid so I didn't think there was any air in it but a member got some new aftermarket pads for the front and he said it helped a lot as they were softer and had better friction so I got a set and while installing decided to change out the brake fluid with a synthetic DOT4. In doing so I did find I had some air in the front system. Afterwards I can say I now have brakes that are acceptable... not perfect... but 300% better. If I could get a set of these new pads for the rear it would be great but so far I can't. Now of you look on the arts breakdown, CFM does offer an upgraded pad... for a very tall cost. I might do them for the back only.

There have also been some reports of the rod being adjusted too tight which was not letting the plunger return all the way back. That not only holds some pressure on the pads wearing them out faster but also stops it from getting a full charge of fluid from the reservoir. If yours is going to the floor, there is either this issue, or a problem with the master...or it does still have air in the system.

The brakes are laughable on the CForce 800 as well. They are bad enough to be considered for a recall. On top of offering little braking power, I have had the front left caliper replaced under warranty due to sticking as well as my rear brake assembly replaced. The performance is still very poor.

One thing I noticed while I was waiting for the rear assembly to come in, I had the rear brakes "pinched off" and the front brakes were much better. I think the brakes would've been better off on discrete levers as they always have been, instead CFMoto put all of the brakes (at least on the CForce) one one system.

On the Z I thought it was on a pull-spring and adjusted separately at the bracket.

I have not taken mine off but can't be too tough..just a mechanical cammed system. I suspect step one would be to remove the cable, then adjust the cam setting all the way to the loose. Has to be some kind of retainer for the frame somehow so look for a couple of bolts it slides on..take a look in the manual..has to be something there.
