Hi, I am new and have a problem. Unfortunately I sank my bike fully in water and was there for 4 hours. I have flushed the motor several times, cleaned electrical connections and finally got it started. During my initial test drive the bike ran quit well. The next day the bike started ok but can can only get slow speeds on high revs = almost as if it is stuck in low gear but it isn't. Checked the clutches and they appear to be working on, they engage and move. Removed the primary clutch and cleaned but couldn't get the secondary off. I am hearing a noise that sounds like a bearing (and it is possible that this is normal and I am looking for something that isn't there) and wanted to check the cvt bearings but didn't get access. Not sure what my problem is - any thoughts? Belt appears ok.

All I can say is all sunk engines are on borrowed time. One that sat 4 hours under water probably even less. It's likely she's spinning the rod bearings and seizing. Hope not but it is a possibility.

If I understand correctly, the engine is running fine but the machine won't accelerate through sustained high RPMS.

If this is accurate, then something is slipping, or the CVT isn't adjusting under power and remains "in low gear".

If the  CVT is changing ratios under power and the belt isn't slipping, then you have to take a look at the wet clutch.

What type of oil did you put in the engine after you removed all the water?

Thanks for the reply guys.
Jeff, Flushed the engine 4 times with 5W30....now no sign of water.
Is the engine oil used for transmission...appears so?
Not familiar with wet clutch....what is it all about?

The wet clutch is bathed in engine oil. It requires oil approved for wet clutch use.

Can you provide the brand and API label contents for the oil you used?

In particular, engine oils with friction modifiers commonly found in oils labeled "Energy Conserving" or "Resource Conserving" are to be avoided in wet clutch applications, but there are also others.  If you use the wrong oil, the clutch pads can and will begin to slip and limit the amount of force it transmits to the CVT. This is what first came to mind when I read that your bike  ran fine at first but then degraded.

Oils meetings the JASO MA specification are typically used for wet clutches. These types of oils are often labeled for motorcycles or ATVs.

Excuse my ignorance but.. what is a 500 Spyder? ATV or UTV? I just don't see it listed.

I really doubt it has anything to do with the wet clutch. The CVT has to be able to upshift by the primary narrowing and the belt rising as a result of the roller weights throwing out and overcoming the secondary spring pressure, causing the (secondary) clutch to spread and the belt descend and describe a smaller circle.
The secondary might be stuck and resistant to spreading.

Nmk, Canada uses the name Spyder for their Zforce line. That said if it's the 500 engine it has no wet clutch,

Sorry all...the bike is a 600 Snyper...messed up in my haste to post. Not sure but I think it is a Z6.
I will inspect cvt's again and try to get secondary off.  Does this bike have a wet clutch?
Also with the primary clutch off the shaft can be turned by hand in both directions,,,thought it would be connected to crank and not easily turned.

That means it has a wet clutch but if it has a one-way bearing...it's bad. Just look it up on the parts diagram on Alpha-sports.com

It appears it is the wet clutch, the pawl assemblies are worn bad. How do I know if my bike has an engine brake. Parts listed in alpha-sports shown 2 types of pawl assemblies, an HL and an MC and I don't know what one I need. Ser# of bike is LCELDUS31D6000060.
How can I tell if it the one way bearing is bad?

Don't quote me but as I recall someone saying a while back, One was for the ones with the engine brake and the other was for the ones without. If you have a one-way bearing..you have the engine brake and if you can turn the bell or the shaft the primary is mounted on both ways..that bearing is bad. It sets behind the wet clutch. Here's a pic.

Engine brake is listed as one of the features of the z6:

http://www.momslancaster.com/Pre-Owned-Inventory-2015-CFMoto-ZFORCE-600-Lancaster-New-Hampshire-3832217

"High performance CVTech driven clutch with wet clutch engagement and engine brake"

Are you able to post a picture or two of the worn assembly so we can learn from your experience?
