Z500 seat belts rubbing seats.

I was getting my z500 ready to ride this weekend and noticed the seat belt latches had been rubbing my seats and the vinyl has torn on the driver's seat about 1 inch and the passengers was showing signs of tearing also. Anyone experience this? Seems I need to remove the plastic trim cover and either loosen the mounting bolts and reposition or just bend the brackets a little.

Yep reposition the buckle.

I was getting some of that with the new belts and I just put a small strip of black duct tape where it was rubbing. Don't recall if the OE buckles were rubbing...probably were.

If you use gorilla duct tape,don't get it on you. That shit will pull the skin off.

I've used duct tape wherever I find wear marks and there are a few on a Z8. Love me some duct tape.

We removed both latches and bent the mounting bases just over 90 degrees from vertical and that seemed to correct the issue. I stitched up the cut on the driver's seat and put a clear patch for vinyl repair over the areas. After our ride yesterday there didn't appear to be any further rubbing...One less thing to deal with on this machine ugh!
