Having running problem with my x5. Had for three year now and ran well at first then started having issue of engine running couple of hours then splutter lose power and stop. Leave for a while ,restart and it would run again. Now problem a lot more frequent and when restarting only running for a short time before repeating. It feels like it is running out of petro but cant see any faultsl. Any ideas apreciated

I believe yours is EFI. If you have a carb please correct me. I would cover these.

Fuel filter
Fuel line too close to hot engine
Fuel pump pressure
Check valve lash if not done recently
Ignition coil sometimes fault out only when hot

Does your cooling fan come on? Running too hot.
