Who here has done a RZR bracket lift on their ZForce?
« on: September 09, 2019, 12:21:01 AM »
I am about to buy a RZR bracket lift on Amazon, but can't decide between 2" and 3".  2018 Z1000, stock tires, sway bar removed.  Just want some extra ground clearance.  Any reason why I shouldn't go with the 3", and remove some shock preload?  Is it too much angle on the axles?  I ride in various conditions from moderate mud to trails to woods roads.  Definitely some spirited driving at times, but I don't take it off any sweet jumps or anything.  Anyone with a bracket lift want to chime in on how it has been working out?  Thanks!

How many kms on the lift now? Has it caused any issues at all. I'd like to ad a bit of clearance to mine as well. Which one did you go with. I see there are several different ones on Amazon. Thanks, Carl.

I did the 2 inch lift on mine a while back. So far I have not noticed anything different other than added ground clearance. I'm pretty happy with it.

I ended up going with a 3" RZR bracket lift.  I've only been out on one short trip so far, but I didn't bottom out once in spots I normally would have.  I love the extra clearance and the way it looks now.  Might be a slight difference in handling at speed but that's to be expected and I'll adjust easily.

Wasn't too bad to install, I had to cut some tabs off the front brackets, and I had to trim the corner off part of the rear control arm for my shocks to clear, even with installing the brackets up top.  Slight repositioning of the ebrake cables/mounts on the rear as well.  I also drilled a hole and installed an extra bolt on all four brackets for extra strength.  I'll add some pics in a bit.

The look is great ! Was the cost much cheaper than a lift kit made for the Z 1000 where the spacers go on the springs ?

That looks good. Do you by chance have any pics of straight on? ( just looking at the front) so we can see the difference in the ground clearance of the diff.

Much cheaper!  This kit cost me about $100CDN shipped, but 30+ of that was the shipping alone.  They're like $50US or so from what I've seen.  And a better lift imo as those spring spacers are basically just adding more preload and I would assume a much harsher ride.  This one rides just as good as before I lifted it.

Ponytail, I will have a look and see if I have decent front pics, mostly likely I do but if not I will get some tomorrow

Pic of the front for comparison, I added it to the album as well.  Sorry about the jack in the way in the before pic, it's not actually on it.  I think I measured about 14" clearance after the lift, I forgot to take before measurements though.

Sure can.  This is the one I used but I've seen a couple other kits for the same machine that would likely work, including a 2".

how was the 3"? did you have to turn your preload way down? what actual lift did you get from the 3" I had the 3" on order but scared it was too much so I ordered a 2"
